Wade Oliver/Oliver Construction did work for us this summer and we loved him! We highly recommend him. Last winter, my parents had some drywall damage on the inside of their geodesic dome sunroom. Due to the complexity of this structure coupled with tornado damage throughout the area, it took us 5 months to find someone who was willing to take on the project. I had called over 10 contractors in Jackson and we finally found Wade Oliver, with Oliver Construction in the local newspaper. He responded quickly, provided an estimate, and was willing to help us with our insurance. Wade is a general contractor and contracted out several of the components of the project (such as the roofing, framing and drywall work), but everything else he and his staff did themselves. We were very satisfied with his work (I will add that painting is not his expertise. We found the quality of the painting did not equate to the quality of his craftsmanship. HOWEVER, I am confident that he is taking the necessary steps to remedy this issue because he really takes pride in his work). The project turned into a big ordeal as we discovered that we had drainage problems that resulted in rotted framing. It was a nasty job, but Wade handled it with expertise and professionalism. In addition, he provided very good advice when we needed help with our decisions, and he was very courteous to both myself and my parents, as was his staff. I never once felt talked down to as a woman or as someone who didn t know the business, which I have experienced in the past with others. He was really good about answering all of my questions and working through any discrepancies or follow-up issues we had. In a nut shell, he was great to work with. We would definitely use him again, and we highly recommend him. I also have to say, our next door neighbor was so impressed with Wade s work that he hired him to do some work next door!
Description of Work: We have a geodesic dome sunroom that needed the drywall replaced due to water damage. After ripping out the drywall, we found the framing was rotten. In order to get to the framing, this required ripping down the brickwork on the outside, which we replaced with siding to match the rest of the house, replacing and painting the drywall, as well as reconstructing the drainage in the backyard. Additionally, the roof had to be replaced. It had been replaced in 2003 and had not been done right and was the major source of the water damage. We also replaced the lighting, the flooring, a water heater, and had holes filled in the backyard where we had previously had some trees cut down. It was extensive work.
