MOUNTAIN CITY TILE

This company laid the tile floor and installed the granite countertops in our kitchen. They did a terrible job and charged a lot of money. The worker did a lot of damage removing our old floor and, while he was very helpful in telling us how WE could fix it, the company has refused to make the repairs. The damage includes chipping the wood on the base of the divider between the kitchen and family room and ruining the wood trim around the stairs from the kitchen to the family room. The workers removed the base boards to lay the tile and after tiling the floor would not reattach them! Said we could do that ourselves! After complaining to the company, they did come back and reattach them; unfortunately, while reattaching one of the base boards, the same worker put a hole our our wall and, again, the company has refused to repair it. (If Shane comes to do work at your house, do NOT let him in.) A hole was left in the wall where the granite countertop was laid, and on the peninsula, they left the slab raised above the cabinets about 1/4 inch so you can see underneath the slab to the other side. The granite around the under mount sink was cut improperly so that around part of the sink, the granite hangs over it. On other parts of the sink, the granite is flush with it. The workers said the problems with the sink and the peninsula were not their fault and could not be helped. This company was also supposed to install our back splash, however, we have hired another company for this job. Frankly, we would not recommend or hire this company to do tile work, or to do ANY work, even in a dog house!
