I planned to do some basement floor remodeling (new walls, plumbing, electrical, etc..). Mr. Swafford came by and made some recommendations about prepatory work (mapping of electrical system) that needed to be done before he could do an accurate quote. He refused to attempt even a ballpark guess. I do believe he was very professional, knowledgable, and experienced. I notified him that I would be getting more than one quote although at the time he was the only one I could find that seemed to be interested in the work. I finished the electrical mapping and notified him that I needed him to come by, review the plan, and give me a quote. He responded that he needed $300 to come by and do that but that it would be included in the work if it was done. While I understood the response and the reasoning for it, I thought the number was high and required that I establish a relationship that I was not interesting in committing to at that time. I went with another contractor who did excellent work and gave me a quote directly after the walk-through.
