When I dropped off the jewelry, I was told that the work would take a week to 10 days.  After three weeks, I called and asked about the status of my work and was told that they had not yet started on it.  I expressed my frustration at the delay since it was not in keeping with what I had been told.  I asked that I be contacted when the work was done.  The next day, I received an apologetic call from Mr. Guess who told me my work was done.  Based on his prompt attention to the problem, I dropped off additional work when I picked up the first work.  The individual accepting my order was somewhat unsure of the exact price for work since it involved some custom changes to earrings and I asked for a call with an estimate before they began any work.  Three weeks later I had not heard anything from them.  I went to the store and met with Mr. Guess.  He explained what happened but did not offer an apology, stating only that the work had been placed in the safe and he had not been told of the need for an estimate.  He began to look over the work and then got a phone call on his cell phone (it appeared to be personal).  He put down my jewelry and walked away without a word to me.  Although the quality of the work they did complete was acceptable, the complete lack of professionalism by the owner was unacceptable.  They were okay for standard work - re-sizing etc. but based on my experience I would not recommend this business for the 'goldsmith' work that is supposed to be their specialty.
