Extremely professional, and easy to deal with. I had no issues whatsoever getting ahold of them during or after the installation. I always felt valued as a customer. During the installation we ran into some termite damaged wood within the wall around a few windows which required a great deal of extra work to repair setting the job back time-wise. I could see where a larger company might have ignored the issues and left them to be a problem down the road. There was some confusion about the cost of the extra work, but they remained easy to deal with and in the end we worked together to come up with a fair agreement on cost. When you have anything done to your home there is always a chance of running into issues that can complicate the job and increase the cost of the work...but again this is an advantage of dealing with actual people from a small company rather than an 800 number from a faceless large company. Tip Top can help with almost any home repair/improvement, and I urge you to call them for an estimate. They will always be my first call after doing such a great job with my windows and being so great to deal with.

My sister was in the hospital with what would be a long recovery. I tried to help her to fix up her house to get it ready to sell. I wanted her to move near me so that I could help her in recovering. I enlisted a company Tip Top Home Solutions from TN for gutter repair. In July, I paid a deposit of $515.00, using my Capital One Credit Card, to fix her gutters. The balance was $1000.00 to be paid by CHECK as per the contract. My sister was to take over the $1000.00 balance. She had all communication with the company I had NO further contact with them. In the interim, my sister passed away Sept 22nd. I thought all the work had been done and paid for as I had nothing further to do with it. In NOVEMBER Tip Top Home Solutions charged MY CAPITAL ONE credit card $1150.00!!! I disputed the charges. I found out the gutter company didnt even do the work until October, after her death, and added on additional charges!!! The company stated I approved the charges which I did NOT!!! Even though the contract said the balance was to be paid by check! And the balance amount was to be $1000... not $1150.00! I thought a contract was a contract! They obvioulsy tried to get the money from my deceased sister and could not so they charged my credit card! .... and for more than what the contract price was set at!!! They should have gotten the money from her estate not me!!! Be careful if you use this company!!!

Excellent quality gutters.  Expensive, but I feel worth it.  Installers were very good and responsive to small changes.  Purchase and installation of gutters went very smoothly.  I would use Tip Top for home exterior improvements again.

We started this project in July, 2014 with Tiptop winning our business with the lowest bid of 23,500 and a signed contract with a $11500 deposit.  We were told that the  parts and items were ordered and that they expected to start in mid August.  By this time, we were visited by the owner and  we decided to kick the deck out an additional 6 ft. and this added $1500 to the total bringing the it to 25,000.  We signed another understanding and this became the deal.  At the end of August, workmen started and it seemed to be going along fine.  Richard, the head of the team, was very good and made some recommendations and even did a little extra to make sure we were happy with the result.  Tim, the foreman, seemed confused, not available, and not very helpful.  We then started to have issues.  The windows were special ordered and when installed looked great.  The only problem, they would not lock and then we learned that the frames were not braced and that they could not bear the weight and were not level and they could not be corrected.  Thus they had to order different windows.  The tile that was laid on the floor was supplied by Tip Top and we learned by the installer that this tile was left overs from another job, which we didn't mind but 6 of the 12x12 tiles are a different shade and do not match.  Since I was planning on an area rug and did not want the floor broken up again we accepted it.  I had asked Tim at the beginning to try and match the ceiling finish to what we already had in the house since the sunroom would be an open area.  He stated he would only to get a crew out that did a terrible job and they told me that they had never done this type of work.

This type of things happened all through the job, and even though we understood that mistake happen, the worst part of it all was the times we were told they would be here and never showed up.  We did not get responses to out calls to Tim and just felt we got the runaround.  By mid November, we sent a letter stating that if our project was not completed by mid December, we were going to take the money we owed them and hire a new crew to finish the job.  Then we started to get a reaction.

Richard, like I said, was a great worker and he then came with a small crew and finished up our project.  Although not perfect, we are happy with the result.

Another issue was that after we paid them the balance, we learned that they never had a completed city inspection which when done, another railing had to be added.  Just poor management of the job.  We did not get a final inspection until early April.

Tip Top has a few great employees who seem to care such as Richard, Jessica at the office but I would not recommend this company for a project like this.

They were good. From when we started talking, it took a little while, but when they started doing the job, it took them a week to complete it. There weren't any issues, and there were no surprises. They are on the expensive side, they are not the cheapest.

The installation went excellent and the installers went above and beyond to ensure our needs were meet, no our needs were exceeded.  We would highly recommend this business needing gutters who did not want to ever clean them out again.

As a follow-up, I have phoned them several times to come adjust the gutter on the rear of our house -- and I am calling again on Monday.  MAYBE, after five phone requests, they will come out as promised to make this adjustment.

Crew of 3 men arrived on scheduled.  Removed old gutters.  Fabricated new gutters and began installation.  The crew was very proffessional in their work.  Knew how to handle all of the situations encountered.
We haven't had much rain since installation.  Waiting to see how product works and if company will stand behind their warranty.

The workers were prompt and did exactly what they promised and were very courteous and performed the job quickly and cleaned up after.I was very pleased with the work done. |Only have one neg issue with the whole process and that was somewhere the  ball was dropped about informing me how to go about collecting the 500.00 credit from the TVA. I was told in the beginning that I could receive a credit from TVA but not how to go about it. I did call the office after the install and asked about it and was told they would check into it and someone would get back to me but no one called back.  It was after the windows were installed the I found out for my self that TVA had to come and do an inspection before the new window installation. The guy at the TVA told me I should have been informed of that before the windows were installed and that it was too late after the work was done. So I lost out on my credit from the TVA. |So I would suggest that in the future they might be more exact in their explaination of the TVA credit process especially after telling the customer about it using it as a selling feature.

These are high quality products but are a little more expensive than similar products of comparable quality on the market. I probably would not have gone with them if not for the special through Angie's list or would do more comparison shopping. It took a little longer for the windows to be manufactured than originally told and had to call the business to find out about the delays. The installation went okay except for some damage to some of the concrete fa?ade around the exterior of the sliding door they installed. I am not sure if this could have been avoided or minimized. When I saw it they said it was not so I accepted that. Also the installer needed a caulk gun he did not have with him so I loaned them mine and they took it with them when they left the job. I am sure this was inadvertent and they would have returned it if I had made an issue of it but I did not. Also we picked a nickel finish for the door hardware and it came with gold. It took some time and several calls to get this corrected. Overall I'd give this experience a B. My recommendation would be: -They have high quality products if you are considering upper tier windows and doors and I can recommend they be considered. -I would do some price comparison of other manufacturers of comparable quality products and do a trade-off analysis of cost vs quality. Without a special deal, they will likely be one of your most expensive options. They were not very flexible in negotiating a better price. Would I use this provider in the future? I'd answer maybe

The team got there about 10-10:30. We were under the impression they would be earlier but it was not a problem. They worked all day and got the job done. They cleaned up after themselves and did goodwork. The reason we used them was because of the quality of material they use. Time will tell if it was worth the extra money.

They have a used car salesman approach, e.g. if you sign up tonight I can give you this discount, or what would keep you from signing up tonight. High Pressure
The installers cut two pieces of finished wood on my sunroom which were designed to hide the view of the gutters from the deck.  So I had two jagged cuts left unfinished.  They were afraid water would run off the front of an a-frame type roof.  Not a lot of logic there.
After butchering the wood, the gutter stuck out on one side of the sun room a couple of inches, on the other side about 5 inches.. They had to come back and fix it.
Did not replace rotted wood they promised to replace, they had to come back and replace the wood.
Had to have them come back and remove a splash guard that was 1) unnecessary and 2) let leaves accumulate that caused the water to flow over the gutters, down the side of the house.  Coincidentally one of my double pane windows (over which the water was flowing) now has a broken seal.

Had water running over the top of the gutters again in June, but in fairness I need to make sure that one of my French drains is not plugged up.
left aluminum slivers on the ground.

I called and left a message to schedule someone for estimates and received a phone call back the same day. They were very accommodating and chose a time that fit our schedule at 6pm. Arrived right on time for the estimate. Our house is pretty small and obvious the job was going to be easy for his guys. We discussed all of the options available but when it came down to it we simply just wanted new regular ole gutters to replace the old rusty ones. I really appreciated the fact that their salesman, Rick understood the situation and listened to what we wanted and didn't try to oversell us. I believe they make their own custom gutters with guards and all that (which are more expensive). He could have easily spent his time trying to sell us on that and why we needed it ....blah blah. I estimated the job at $350-$400 tools and equipment to do it myself. Tip Top has better gutters that are thicker than you will find at the hardware stores. Tip Top also uses seamless gutters that are all one piece. These are nice because joints/seams can and usually will, eventually leak. I felt their quote was fair considering Tip Top is a legit business with overhead like insurance, licenses, employees, office, etc. (And compared to quotes from other legit businesses for $700 and another for $850) We gave Rick our deposit and signed the paperwork that night. We were to receive a call within 2 weeks from his office to get something scheduled.
Scheduling call came within the 2 week window, even with multiple days of rain and I would imagine this is the time of year they get busy. I was glad to see they were able to meet commitment window even with forces working against them. After getting scheduled the workers showed up on time. They had the new gutters up in under 2 hours. They look great and you can really tell a difference! The crew cleaned up well, but I did find a couple of leftover items in the lawn/mulch.
I did call them for a follow up. When I called back I told the receptionist that work was recently done on my home and I had two small requests for them to come back and modify. My requests were very minor and kind of picky to be honest. They said they would schedule a time, but a couple days later one of the guys in the area stopped by and made the adjustments. It took him 15 minutes. He also re-checked all the work and offered to fix anything else I didn't like or wanted fixed.
Strong Areas from my experience
Punctual and Considerate during scheduling
  • Quote was to the penny of final payment
  • Felt like I received special treatment when I told them I chose them from Angie's List
  • Gutter Quality is Excellent
  • Appearance is Excellent
  • Customer Service is Excellent - They won the most points with me here. I hate trying to be sold something I don't need. Rick didn't do that at all. He knew what I wanted and what the job called for and didn't get greedy.
  • They honor their warranties

Weak Areas from my experience
Installation - required follow up even though it was minor. I am now 100% satisfied with the installation after the follow up.
Clean-up - Although they did clean up pretty well there were still a few items laying around on the roof, yard and landscape.
In my opinion the pros outweigh the cons with Tip Top and would gladly recommend them and re-use their services. We are very satisfied with the new look our home.

The labor performed was generally of high quality and the installers of the gutters were top notch people who did not cut corners. But the performance of the job was highly variable. It involved coordination among several different crews and not all seemed up to the task. When taking out the old gutters, one crew showed up at 3:00 or 4:00 with a sunset of 5:00 and then worked on with flashlights. Only problem was that they missed some punctures in the roof as they tore off, and then someone else had to drag them back to fix the problem. The installers noticed that although we had paid a premium for a copper color, what was delivered was actually inconsistently colored. Some pieces were of the color we ordered, others were not. Some portions of our gutters are still two-toned, and we are still waiting for this problem to be redressed. Overall, the quality of the work was high, but lack of attention to details (for 11K, one might expect consistent product) was and is annoying. We paid in full after receiving assurance that nagging details such as painting a weather strip and replacing the sections that were not in the original color selected would be completed. The weather strip was completed, the two-tone look, as indicated, persists. To be fair, many of the problems we cite were noted by the supervisors working for the company, who seemed genuinely concerned with quality, so it is even more puzzling that all the issues  have not been resolved.

A few days later, I decided to move forward with the job to add the covered gutters to my home. They were installed the next week and look great. The workers installed a new rain barrel for me at no additional charge. So far, even with the very wet spring we have had, I am very happy with my purchase.

The work was performed in an efficient and professional manner.  The estimate had included one problem area that required repair of rotted soffit and fascia on a porch adjacent to one gutter.  This carpenter work was done skillfully and completely to my satisfaction.  On the second day of this two-day job, I wanted to have some additional rotted soffit replaced for additional cost, but the installer told me that only fascia board replacement was covered in the contract.  He said that sound soffit was not required for gutter installation.  Plus, he was in a hurry to finish and rush on to the next job at the very end of the day and could not take any  time to deal with an extra problem.  My advice to a new customer is to have every detail of a potential repair specified in the contract before signing.  My contract called for the repair fascia board at a rate of $5 per foot.  I assumed that soffit material directly attached to the fascia board would be repaired at the same cost.  But this was not the case, and I was left with a repair situation right under my new gutters.

We contacted Tip Top Home Solutions about replacing the gutters on our house.  They were prompt in returning our call and were on time for the appointment we set up.  The high pressure sales tactics were a little irritating, but we got past that.
Once we agreed on a price, they were prompt in scheduling the job and again, showed up on time to deliver the materials.  The two installers actually showed up a day early to start and therefore had to deal with our 110 pound German Shepherd, since we were at work.  They made friends by bribing him with doggy treats.  The work went smoothly and quick and the installers were very friendly.  The only small complaint I have is that I think they could have done a slightly better job cleaning up.  I found several screws and small pieces of metal for several weeks afterwards.
We are slightly surprised that no one from the company called after the completion of the work to see if we had any problems or were satisfied, but overall, we are pleased and would consider using them again in the future.

We waited a month before they scheduled us, then they called and rescheduled for the 19th of February. The boys that came out to put the doors in were very courteous, friendly and did an excellent job!   They looked like they were too young to know what they were doing, but they did. When there was a question from me about the shading on the doors, the rep came out almost immediately and cleared it up. It was my mistake. I would definitely use them again.

The sliding glass door was not installed correctly and the kitchen flooded during every rain storm.  The door had to be de-installed and re-installed.
One of the windows did not go up and down properly and this had to be fixed.
The window trim and door trim were not installed correctly and had to be completely re-done.
Recently, I noticed a draft around the front window.  I took off the decorative panel and there was no insulation to prevent seeing light to the outside.  I insulated it myself to avoid having to deal with these people again.
The windows and doors were ordered in the fall 2010 and the installation was not completed until May 2011.

I waited to post a review because I wanted to see how well this
company's patented, hooded gutter worked with a real gully-washer. We
had one yesterday -- all day long, actually -- and these gutters
performed very well. Though the presentation was too hard-sell for my
taste, I chose the company because I liked the product -- and I have no
regrets for doing so. The installation team was efficient and courteous.
The follow-up work to fix a few leaks was also timely. The owner of the
company also touched bases with me to make certain all was well with
the new gutters, which are not only highly functional but also
attractive. They actually improved the appearance of my house

I decided to replace my existing vinyl windows with a premium product. I narrowed my search down to a few manufacturers and found the local companies who could do the install as well. It was very important to me to find a local company that had a dedicated install crew.
I had the companies out to demonstrate their products and they all did a very good job. The folks from Tip Top answered all of my questions around install and warranty. I ended up going with Tip Top because:
1. They have a very good product. 2. They were very easy to talk to with a no pressure approach. 3. They are local with a very experienced install crew. 4. I felt they were a customer led company. 5. The price was very good.
We placed our order and about 6 weeks later Tip Top came out to install. Due to the size of the order it took them several days to complete the work. Their crew was always very courteous and professional. When they were on site they worked very hard and never seemed to take a break. They were careful to move furniture and clean up. In my case many windows had blinds. The installers disassembled the blinds and reassembled as part of the job. They did a great job on the install. They clearly knew what they were doing.
We did have two issues.  The first was the highest half round, about 20 feet above the ground, was a tight fit and the outer pane cracked as it was placed into position. Tip Top immediately expedited a replacement. The second was my windows have grids and in one area there are two double hungs with a large picture window between them. Unfortunately the horizontal grids on the double hungs did not match the picture window. Tip Top ordered a replacement window as soon as the error was discovered.
I am very happy with the product, professionalism and workmanship I received from Tip Top. I highly recommend them and plan on using them again in the future.
