When we bought our house, there was nothing in the master bedroom closet - not a pole, not a shelf or even a hook. Jason built us a beautiful, functional closet system complete with a granite bench and a wall of shoe cubbies. He also built an impressive set of stairs from our 2nd story deck down to the backyard so my dog could easily go outside. He does excellent work and I highly recommend him.

Fantastic! Jason answered our phone call immediately about repairing and staining our deck and was over that evening to give us a quote. He was so helpful in answering all of our questions and ensuring our deck was going to be safe to use for the upcoming warmer months as we just moved into our new house. After one week of receiving the quote, Jason and Tanner began working on the deck and the job was done beautifully in just three days. I wish I could upload pictures on here for the before and after because it does not look like the same deck. My husband and I could not be happier with the result and cannot wait to use our "new" deck! We would highly recommend Jason and his team!

Exemplary! Jason delivered based on his recommendations and suggestions for our damaged fence and deck. During a bad storm, a large tree fell on our wooden fence and deck. I found good reviews online about Jason Mechler of Golden Rule and hired him. He explained the scope of work for rebuilding and repairing our damaged property. He and his crew worked hard and we are pleased with the result. I am convinced Golden Rule contractors are the best in Nashville because of Jason's attitude, character and work ethic. His knowledge, professionalism and respectfulness set him apart from several other contractors that bid on this job. His price was competitive for the work that had to be done. If you want the job done right, hire Jason Mechler of Golden Rule. His expertise on fence and deck building and repair is valuable to homeowners who are met with the hard work and challenges of home maintenance and repair. He is undoubtedly one of the best in the Nashville area and in demand.

Ridiculously over priced!!! This one man company is nothing more than a middle man subbing out work and collecting money. Had the job done at 87% LESS than quoted by other company. Why is he on Angies List???

"Just to be clear I did no work for this man. Actually I Gave him a price over the phone which he agreed to the same one he is complaining about but I told him I wanted to come by and take a look before I agreed. He agreed to the price again when I went to his home after coaching my daughter’s soccer team and The homeowner and I had a pleasant conversation about soccer, about his project and I left. I don’t understand why people go out of their way to leave bad reviews for someone who gave them a price they didn’t like? The job in my opinion required scaffolding as it was in a weird spot 20’ up. I didn’t want to endanger myself or my crew so I quoted what I believe was the safe and correct way."

It seemed simple at the outset, but was actually quite complicated. Jason tried several remedies, and got it fixed in the end by reshaping the door, moving the hinges and repainting. A very good job.

I could not have been more impressed by Jason. He contacted me almost immediately after I emailed him (and on a Sunday). He was super responsive, on time, extremely professional, efficient, and did an excellent job. We need several things done around our house including mirror removal/drywall repair, shelves built and installed, and a new deadbolt added. Jason got to work right away and checked in with me throughout the process to make sure I was happy. He was friendly and easy to work with and we are so happy to have found him. We will definitely use him again in the future.

I got a phone call and message from Jason almost immediately after I was given his name on Angie’s List. We met at the job site and he knew exactly what kind of trim work I wanted. He had some time right then so he left to get the materials and came back and finished the job in under 3 hours. I couldn’t be happier with his work or the fact that he got it done so quickly.

The contractor contacted me by phone, then asked for my information by text. He texted that he would be available to come out the following weekend. He then texted he thought he could come out earlier and asked would I be available that same day he texted. I communicated with him on a time and I never heard from him again.

Jason was very cooperative and helpful. He came from Hendersonville to Nashville just to check out what needed to be done with my walls and didn't charge me anything. (he even helped me discard a large piece of mirror that I was unable to carry out myself) Prior to that he gave me lots of good advice via email. When it came time to do the work, he did a quality, professional job . I would definitely hire him again.

Excellent service, very knowledgeable and prompt, probably the nicest experience I have ever had with any exterior repair service I have ever had. Our house is old and not a quick fix. Mr. Mechler was so easy to work with and the repairs were done to an excellent quality. I will definitely be a repeat customer for any carpentry needs.

Golden Rule Carpentry did an excellent job at handmaking the shelving that I received for my newly built laundry room and was very punctual, gave a written estimate when he came to my house to view what work I needed done and scheduled when the installation of the shelving would take place. I would definitely recommend this contractor for carpentry work. .
