Bidwell Painting

The crew was polite and offered a fair price. The work resulted a less than desirable finish, however the price made that acceptable. The unfinished job, and ghosting made the whole experience unacceptable. The clean up was also not up to par, as our trash can, and plants all had a nice mist of white spray paint.

Amazing! Jimmy and his crew were the most professional contractors I have worked with in a long time. He showed up on time for the initial estimate, sent the information in a timely manner and charged a fair price. That was just the beginning, on day one they were on time and ready to go. They painted the interior of our 1600 square foot house, including trim and twenty-two foot high ceilings. The job was done with care. The finished product is beautiful. We would hire Jimmy and his crew again anytime.

I called Jimmy to get an estimate on house painting services. Jimmy was very polite and responsive on the phone and arrived promptly when scheduled to give me his estimate. We had the house, deck, and fences pressure washed and painted. Jimmy also did some light carpentry work on my deck, replacing some damaged boards. Jimmy and his crew were respectful, polite, punctual, and did a great job. His estimate was very competitive and he got the job done quickly and as promised. Overall we are very pleased with the services he provided for us. We would definitely use him again.

Jimmy and his crew cleaned the gutters and pressure washed my two-story 2500 ft house for $350. Jimmy's estimate was compatible, but I hired him because of his cheerful personality. They showed on time and worked efficiently until the job was done. In addition, they offered to do and did a few extra things, such as patching a few holes in the siding. I asked if they will pressure wash the deck and they did. That was a separate job. Great team, great job, great pricing. I highly recommend them and will definitely hire them again. 

Mr. Bidwell met with me at the house and went through and gave me an estimate for all the work. Him and his crew showed up the day he said they would start and on time. The work was very professional and kept everything very clean and neat. The job was completed on time and I am extremely pleased. I found Mr.. Bidwell to be  very nice and trustworthy which means alot. The quality work they did speaks for itself. I will defiantly use Bidwell Painting again.

Everything went well. I supplied the paint they provided the labor. There were some areas that needed attention after they left, and they returned and fixed those areas. I'm not sure I would use them again.

Jimmy was fantastic. Even with the wrinkle of not being near the house, Jimmy communicated his quote quickly, took ownership of the finished product rather than just quoting what we asked. He and his crew started and finished the job when they said they were going to  and when I arrived a few days later I found a a great job had been done in all areas.
I recommend Jimmy to anyone in the Chattanooga area who will listen.

Jimmy painted our house back in January, and I did realize until today that had not submitted a review for his work.  Sorry, Jimmy!!!  Jimmy and his crew did a great job.  We have a home that has a lot of tree cover and the house had not been lived in for a while before we bought it.  This resulted in blocked gutters and a lot of wood rot.  Jimmy replaced the rotten wood , caulked and painted the home.  We are very pleased and would use Bidwell Painting again.

Very good, fine job. I felt like that I was a little concern with his pressure washing, but this was fine. He did it on time. He stayed with the job. He didn't go off and do something else leaving it half done.

They showed up on time each day - and worked hard.  But the quality of the work turned out very poor.  In most of the rooms (and ceilings) there are very obvious brush marks, uneven application of paint, dirt that was painted over, holes that were improperly patched, and paint that is on the trim.  There are two areas of the house where it appears paint brushes were cleaned and the water used to clean ended up getting splattered on the "freshly painted" walls.  It is awful.
There was insufficient prep work (if done at all).  For example, I had to ask them to remove light switch and outlet plates as they were getting ready to paint around them.  They did not tape off any trim but free handed instead leaving many areas that are supposed to be white trim with color applied very crooked.  They did not clean walls and instead just painted over dust, and debris. which can still be seen.  Paint was spilled on the carpet in our bedroom and on a footstool in the same room.  I have not complained about the spilled paint until the writing of this review.  Was just going to let it go.
Bidwell did at one time offer to repaint.  But they were asked to repaint during the job as some areas looked like they were done by people with zero painting experience.  So many of the existing problems are the result of their second efforts.  If they could not do an acceptable job after two times, what chance did they have of doing it correctly the third time?
What I did recently ask is for a refund for the cost to paint the master bedroom and was told by Jimmy Bidwell (the owner) that he was willing to do it when he got back in town.  I told him I was going to have the bedroom repainted.  I never received the check he promised.  Since his initial reply, I have reached out to him asking why he has not communicated, and why I have never receive the refund he promised?  He has not replied to numerous e-mails.
Our home looks like it was painted by amateurs, not professionals.  Even though they were a little less expensive, the result is not worth it.  I have to hire another painting company to redo the bedroom which is the worst of the rooms.  But the overall job is very poor and if we could afford it, and be able to live with painters in the house again, we would have the entire job redone.  
Bidwell may be capable of painting the exterior, but in my experience, they paint the interior like it is an exterior (if that good).   And they lied about giving me a refund (for one room) which is inexcusable.

From our first contact to our last, Jimmy Bidwell and his crew were outstanding. They were prompt and efficient, friendly, easy to work with, and professional. Jimmy returned our call the same day we made contact, he came out the next day to give a free estimate, he sent an email with the estimate the same day as his bid, and he answered our question via email the same day we sent it. Once the crew started work, they came at the stated time and worked continuously throughout the day. They did above and beyond what we expected yet came in BELOW the estimate, so we actually paid about $80 less than originally quoted. When the job was complete, we really appreciated that they walked around the house to inspect it with us and answer any questions/concerns we had.

Jimmy started the job earlier than expected. Finished on time and slightly under budget. He did a fabulous job. He and his crew were wonderful to work with. He's an honest, hardworking man who does a great job. I will hire him for any painting I needs I have in the future!

It was really good, they're reliable and they've done it quickly than I expected, they were there when they said they're going to be.

Came for estimate same day I called. Said he would send estimate by email and did so within 2 hours. Arrived on time first and second day and completed earlier than he originally thought. Added to what was asked to paint at no extra cost because it "will look better". Did this only after asking for our OK. Will have Bidwell back for more painting soon.

The crew was very punctual, friendly and helpful with changes and suggestions. They had a lot of repairs to fix on the trim and exterior of our home and did an excellent job. They matched the exterior color exactly to the previous shade that I wanted. They also completed extra things such as matching our shed to the house ( I didn't even think about it to ask!!). Jimmy was very professional and friendly to work with. They finished in a timely matter, even with a terrible week of rain and storms.

It went  great.  They started Wednesday and finished by noon on Friday.   I asked that he use Behr Cleaner on the deck and then finish it with a Behr solid stain.   My terra cotta  deck is beautiful and should last me for 10 years since we used a 10 year warranty product.  He gave me all the material receipts to be used for warranty claims if ever  needed.

Jimmy Bidwell came out quickly after contacting him through Angies List to give us a quote.  He emailed the quote to us in a timely manner.  Due to it being spring time and a busy time of year, he scheduled as in as soon as he had an opening (about 6 weeks).  He touched base with us ahead of time to ensure we were ready to start, etc..  Overall everything went very well.  Jimmy (and all the other J's) was easy to work with and corrected anything we thought needed a little extra attention.  There were a few delays because of weather but you have to be flexible when your working with someone who's work depends on the cooperation of mother nature.  Would certainly use them again!

I would recommend him to anybody anytime. Jimmy and his crew are just fabulous. They're great people. I've already gotten them to do work at several other people's houses and he is great. He is time and punctual. He does a great job and is professional. He is a good man. Their price is very reasonable. I'm already planning on using them again.
