Their's was not least expensive bid, but went with them based upon reviews. Work began on 12/20/17 with electricity turned off at 9 a.m. not to be restored for 30 hours.....refrigerated food had to be discarded. Their work continued on 12/21 and 12/22. Paneling was destroyed as they accessed wiring. I was not consulted (to be given the option of getting a carpenter to carefully remove paneling so that it could be replaced) before reciprocating saw tore into wall leaving a pile of dust on floor and on furniture. No attempt made to lay sheeting to minimize impact. Although electrical work was completed on 12/22, insulation that was removed was not replaced until 1/3....leading to very cold air coming into house during coldest weather of the winter. Contacted 6 contractors for wall repair....all have told us that it will be impossible to match the 25+ yr old paneling...patching will have to be custom made. Nova only offered 18% credit to compensate for damage, lost food, time/effort in securing a contractor to repair damage, etc. Gave Wayne the final payment today (1/26). To this point, it appears the electrical work has been completed correctly. However, the collateral property damage incurred has led me to submit this less than favorable review. Photos attached. ***Update to the service provider's reply***: In response to the company stating that the contractor has not been contacted by me. I did call and leave a message but never got a response from the contractor. I ended up contacting 5-6 other people and finally found a carpenter to do the repair work. From a technical standpoint, it seems that the work was done correctly, it was the process and the damage that was done that I have an issue with.
Response from Nova Electric LLC
"From start of the project the original wiring of the house had been added and changed over the years. We advised Mrs. [Member Name Removed] that it was a hazard and not correct with the potential of a fire and needed to be corrected. Nova Electric has experience many incorrect electrical installations and has either corrected them with approval or made owners aware of the issues. Once the project had been started, unforeseen problems existed within the original installation that had to be corrected. A delay of reconnect and access within the walls had to be done. Sometimes electrical installations of complete panelboard changes may have more involvement that can be seen before starting the project. Wire nuts or connections (other than breakers, main breaker, neutral/ground bar) in the panelboard are not allowed. Bringing the wiring into a separate box before the panelboard is one solution. We did compensate Mrs. [Member Name Removed] for the delay of restoring power and wall damage. A lot was involved with this project and we made certain that correct electrical installation had been done regardless of the loss that Nova Electric occured. We completed the project with the required permits and approvals. We did contact and forwarded a contractor to Mrs. [Member Name Removed] that could replace the wall to match at a the discounted price but the contractor had not been contacted by homeowner."

Response from Nova Electric LLC
"Cost on this project was fair and reasonable for the amount of work requested. The owner never stated that the budget for project was limited, and requested many items to be corrected. The owner stopped work stating that the family dog needed cancer treatments and did not have the money to complete the work. Nova Electric had the cost lowered to accommodate the unsatisfactory invoice due to unable to complete the project. Material cost had been over $1000.00 excluding labor and we had occurred a loss that can not be recovered just to satisfy the complaint. The owner returned unused material without returning all that had been purchased for the home. Nova had offered to finish the work scoop with the original ending invoice that had been accumulated but they were not going to pay.Rather, they decided to not pay what was due and not allow us to return. Please notify any service provider for a proposal cost or, if a time and material project, a limit/price and time expected of completion to keep from any issues occurring."

These young men took the inner working of the main electrical power distribution center of my house loose. Dismantled the connections and removed the panel, installed A new panel box, installed all the proper breaker and connected the wiring back in the right order. All in all an amazing feat to be completed in the time in was done. Puled up to the house at 7 in the morning and by 1:30 early the same afternoon power shut off to the house, MDP (main distribution Panel) and all associated hardware switched over, inspected and approved by State Electrical Inspector, and power restored. WOW. This company is about a year old and the young man that owns it is old school. His thinking is simple and straight forward. If I need work done and I'm in the area, one decision will be easy to make.
