They have a few tuners and a couple of them are kids that use the machines. They do an okay job, but Jerry rebuilds pianos for a living and has done it all his life. He's in his 60's and he tunes it by ear with a tuning fork. They offer music lessons and it's kind of a subcontract. I believe the instructors pay them for the rooms and they work out of Lane Music. They sell Kawai pianos which are some of the finest pianos. They are probably the best piano business in town. They actually have two locations, one in Memphis and one in Germantown. While I'm waiting there for my children's lessons the owner makes himself very available in the showroom. I enjoy talking with people and he enjoys talking as well, so we would stand there for the entire lesson and just tell a lot of stories. He's just a very personable guy. They sell the Kawai Shigeru piano which is a handmade piano in Japan and they run anywhere from $80,000 to well over $100,000 each. When the piano is put in place and after it's been in place for six months they actually fly the man who built the piano from Japan and he would come into your house or theater or wherever you're at and tune it to its surroundings. That's interesting to me and it's truly a piece of artwork and not just some instrument. He explained the whole thing to us and it was pretty cool even though he knew he wasn't selling me an $80,000 piano.
