Our experience with Mr. Joe Doughton was quite frustrating and disappointing. Our house was in an outstanding condition and a rather easy sale. Nevertheless, Mr. Doughton kept pushing us to make one compromise after another. If we gave in to all his misplaced advice, we would have almost given the house away for nothing. Although he was our agent and was legally and ethically bound to look out for our interest in this transaction, he looked out to keep the buyers happy so he would get his commission. We would not recommend working with Joe Doughton (ReMax), because you would not be getting yourself an advocate, but rather someone who would be looking solely after his commission while disregarding his ethical and fiduciary obligations.
