Kevin and his team did an excellent job.

We were very pleased with the service we received from Thompson Landscaping.  Kevin was immediately responsive regarding providing a quote and came out to meet with me and explain options, take measurements, and provide a detailed estimate for the services to be provided.


There were challenges in getting the work started due to the weather however once the work began, the crews worked very quickly and managed to finish the projects in about a week.  Kevin came out a couple of times that week to look at the progress and provide updates as to how everything was going.  He went back to double check the crew's work and had them fix  anything that wasn't to his specifications.


Overall the project went very smoothly with no surprises.  The crews knew exactly what they were doing and were clearly experienced.  We would use Thompson Landscaping again for any future landscaping needs.

it started with me being notified that I need to talk to Mr. Thompson regarding the landscaping for our house.  I called him a couple of times but never heard back from him.  I figured he was busy, but when the builder asked me what the status was on the landscaping I told them I had not heard from Mr. Thompson.  The builder called him and he told them he had not heard from me.  I called him again and he answered and agreed to meet my wife and myself at the house to discuss our landscaping.  It was the middle of winter and we were concerned about the landscaping going into the ground when it was so cold, but he assured us all would be well and there was  "1 year warranty" if there were any problems with the plants.  he talked to us about the kind of plants that we wanted and he said he knew what we wanted and that he had some suggestions. We have since learned these were very cheap suggestions and not what we really wanted.  For instance my wife wanted something large that would be a good screen for around the pool and he suggested emerald arborvitaes.  he did not tell us they were very slow growing in our region and that a lot of them needed to be planted for an effective screen.  He also neglected to tell us that they are very susceptible to disease and parasites.  When we moved in several of the plants were dead and we had to have them replaced.  This occurred probably because he planted the plants between two ice storms.  He kept telling us they were dormant until finally we made him come over and he agreed they were dead and then replaced them. 

When we moved into the house we found that the drainage in the back yard was not done properly and everything was flowing into our pool. After months of talking with him and the builder he finally came back and regarded the yard and then moved the placement of the runoff spout to the middle of the back yard.  At least it doesn't flow back into the pool now. 

The plants keep dying off and he has been very difficult to get a hold of on the phone.  I one time made the mistake of calling him twice in a row (his phone was doing something strange and did not let me leave a message) and when he called back he snapped at me and asked what was so urgent that I needed to call him so much.  He then proceeded to chew me out for calling him and not waiting for him to call me back.  The next time I called, I waited to see how long it would take him to call me back, and then got tired of waiting after two hours and called him again.  He then barked at me again about calling him and that he was "very busy".  I decided to go through the builder without talking to him. 

On the final time that I talked to him, he told me that the plants which were dead in the backyard were dead due to parasites probably and that his warranty does not cover parasites.  He said he would come out and look at the plants and let me know.  Two weeks later on a Saturday morning, some people were wandering around the backyard and my wife asked them who they were and they said they were with Kevin Thompson.  They told my wife that they were checking the plants and the irrigation to see if they were being watered enough.  Then they left without replacing any of the obviously dead plants and we have never seen or heard from them again. 

When we moved in they were supposed to go over the irrigation system with us, but that never happened.  I downloaded instructions and read the manual and figured some settings out, but nothing more than the basics, and still do not know what is included in my system. 

Kevin Thompson was extremely professional and responded to all phone calls in a timely manner. He was very easy to work will and extremely flexible when the building contractor threw a wrench into his schedule more then once. His team worked very hard and were very knowledgeable and professional. They went over how to work the system with me and put in a top quality unit . Everything was left very neatly and professionally completed. Even when I though they hit something when installing my fence, Mr. Thompson took the time to come right out and check the system himself to make sure everything was ok. I would and have recommended Thompson's Landscaping Services with confidence.

I had been using a service and kept having my gates left open by the provider. When my wife or I would get home and let my dogs out I was chasing them down the street. I also got no notification when he was spraying for weeds - and the weed control was not making my yard look better.

I got little contact from him and no response to my complaints. I checked AL and contacted Thompson. I got a fair price and he referred me to a great weed control company- another AL member. I have been using him for 2 months now- they are prompt, Kevin responds to my texts or e-mails quickly. And I have no complaints.

IT WAS FANTASTIC. Don't be fooled by lack of reviews compared to the big companies.  Thompson Landscaping put them all to shame.  I did a lot of research on Angie's List and have 5 different companies quote me for a patio of about 400 sq.ft. +  I met Kevin the owner to get the quote.  He was punctual and very knowledgeable about pavers and all outdoor landscaping solutions.  This made me feel confident he was the contractor to go with.  Work was slow because of weather, but he was excellent about communicating the work schedule.   It took a little over a week to complete, with weather delays, but the end product was well worth it.  The quality of the work was worth the extra few days of delays.  
His crew was very personable and informative as well.  I felt comfortable leaving my house for work, knowing they would be working there all day.  The final product ended up using more materials than originally quoted but Kevin stood firm to his original quote.  The price he quoted was the price I paid.  No hidden fees popped up at the end.  I would HIGHLY recommend them to any of my friends and family.  
Not only was the quality fantastic, but they beat every other quote I had (all from reputable businesses on Angie's List).  Quality, Value and Service all in one company. 

Kevin was prompt to my appointment and upfront regarding his thoughts and options.  Because my primary reason for calling for his services stemmed from minor basement leaking, he suggested that I reach out to a general contractor to make sure I had no structural issues (so that I would be sure to not spend more money than necessary).
After I received the OK from a general contract specializing in basement and foundation waterproofing, I approved of Kevin's plans and pricing.  He added me to his list of work and gave me a time frame of which he would be able to start.  He was able to complete the project within the time frame mentioned, and the results are professional.  He even made the decision to add a channel drain to my project and upgrade the quality of mulch used for the landscaping.
I would definitely recommend him, and I will certainly be working with him on my future landscaping projects!

Wonderful! Kevin did a great job of exactly what I asked for.  It being a rental home; I was not there to oversee the project.  He sent me before and after photos and the work was great! Gave the exterior great curb appeal and the house is since under contract to be sold!! Thanks a bunch!

I'm behind in posting this, but Kevin, the owner, was fantastic to work with. He answered all my questions, was friendly, up front, and honest. Not an easy thing to find these days. I had a couple of questions after the fact and they were quick to respond the next day even though they were up in Gallatin.
Very impressed with the work and the company. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend them and I already have to neighbors.

Kevin's team escavated landscape beds and filled with approximately 40-plants that Kevin Thompson personally touched and selected from his vendors. Lines were straight, symemetry was exactly what I envisioned. Very clean and looked as though it had been there for years. LANDSCAPE LIGHTING was beautiful . I never wanted lights but my wife did and enough said. They are perfect. down and up lighting of just the right intensity. Soon I will have Kevin Thompson replace my landscaping out front of my house. I'm looking forward to his next creative project.

Extremely responsive and the price was more than reasonable. Workers sent out were courteous and professional. Job was complete quickly and leftthe area in spotless condition.

I have worked with many contractors and subcontractors in the past ten years and the professionalism demonstrated by Kevin Thompson and his company was second to none. The work was performed exactly as promised and when promised. Kevin's crew was very good but most impressive was Kevin's commitment to excellent client service. I always got the feeling that Kevin wasn't pleased if I had the slightest concern. I will be using Kevin in the future for other landscape projects. Kevin was not the cheapest bid but at the recommendation of a trusted neighbor I proceeded with him for the project. Very glad I didn't just use the lowest bidder as I am sure in the end I got more value than I paid.

Overall went well. They arrived on the day they said they would come. Began repairing and pointed out freeze damage right away. Had to order special part that came in a few days later. They repaired and tested system. Back up and running and took time to show me how it works. Great customer service. Only issue is that the City inspected and said that one of the valves did not pass inspection. Called Kevin to get a follow up to determine why original repair not meeting inspection. Called Monday and left a message. It's Wednesday and I have not received a call back yet.

The owner is very personable and friendly. They did an awesome job. The workers were pleasant to deal with. They came back to make sure it was working properly after one week of use. I plan to call them back to install lights also because I was so pleased with the service.

This company was great and I was very pleased with their work. Because I am a strict grader, I would give them all B's for their services. I would say that their prices are competitive, but their work is very good. They showed up in a timely manner, they had great follow-up skills, and they even winterized my irrigation system for me randomly one day. They are a newer company from what I understand but my guess is that they will do very well because of their great customer relations and accurate work. I continue to use them and would recommend their services to others.

This company did a wonderful job of installing our irrigation system in our yard. They worked very effectively. We had a ton of contracting companies working on our property simultaneously so I can not remember what we paid. My husband dealt with the financial arrangements during that time. They were reasonable in price. We felt like we were treated very well.

The guy who did the work was a great guy. He does quite a lot of work in the area and he has always done a good job. He is very professional, he shows up as scheduled every time and he is always ready to do whatever it is you need to have done. I would prefer not to hire anyone else. My irrigation system works wonderfully and I am very pleased.

The work that was done was done well. We had some problems with the plumber not having some correct knowledge about some legalities of the project but they were all worked out. Besides that we have not had any problems with the system and it has been working properly. I thought that the price was reasonable. I would use this company again but only with some reserve. I would make sure to check that everyone is properly licensed as well.
