I called Walker Chevrolet to make an appointment to take my car in to have the oil changed, the brakes checked, and the radiator was leaking.  I was told to bring the car in the next week on Wednesday morning.  They were told that the radiator was leaking on the driver's side near the hose, and that the fluid could be seen running down the side of the radiator.  Also, that the brakes were squeaking when I applied the brakes.  I thought it was possible that the car could be fixed in a day if the radiator leak was just the hose.  They usually call to say how much it will cost to fix.  When I hadn't heard anything by the end of the day, I called and was told that they had not had time to check the car.  When I had not heard anything by Thursday afternoon, I called and was told, again, that they still had not had time to check the car.  I still had not heard anything by Friday afternoon.  When I called, and was told that they still had not had time to check the car, I said that I was coming in to pick it up.  An hour later, before I left, I received an automated call saying that the car was ready.  When I got there they said that the oil had been changed.  Guess they got busy and did something when I said I was picking up the car.    When an appointment is made a week ahead, one expects the work to be done that day, not to have the car sit there for three days and not even be looked at.  There is absolutely no excuse for this shoddy treatment.  I had been a customer there for several years, but no more.  I took the car to another garage, and they put in a new radiator and four brakes in the same amount of time it took Walker Chevrolet to do nothing.  The new garage even apologized for taking so long because they had to order a part.

We own a Yukon XL with more than 200+K miles and were preparing for a 3 week RV trip from Nashville to Yellowstone. Right before we left I started hearing/feeling a slight grinding in the front end and decided to bring it in for a look. My service advisor understood the urgency of getting the job handled quickly and the importance of ensuring that my Yukon was ready for the trip . I was a little concerned about pulling a large travel trailer 5K miles with a Yukon with 210K miles on it - he understood completely. The noise was found to be caused by badly worn bearing in the front differential. The repair was performed quickly. We took the trip without any complaints at all from the Yukon (maybe a little from the kids while making our way across Kansas). Great trip, great vehicle, great dealer.

Our diagnosis took almost a full day and three phone calls to receive. Based on communications with our trusted mechanic back home a red flag was raised on the diagnosis provided by Walker Chevrolet. It was recommended we transfer it to a transmission specialist for a second opinion from a transmission specialist before proceeding. It took almost a full business day for Walker Chevrolet to get our paper work together and release our vehicle.
Our second opinion turned up a broken piece in the planetary system in the transfer case and no problem with the front differential. Total cost just over $600. Over 3000 miles later our car is still running fine.
My attempts to hold Walker Chevrolet accountable for the misdiagnosis and attempt to fraud me have gone completely unanswered. I am out towing expense and diagnosis fee of over $100 . It is unfortunate the company conducts business in such a manner and is a poor reflection of the Chevrolet/GMC brand.

I have always took my car to the dealerships for service on my car but Walker Chevrolet has failed to win me over. On two separate occasions I have been frustrated with this dealership. In 2012 I brought my car for a simple oil change and they told me it would take an hour so I elected to wait for my car. One hour turned into four hours and they never even apologized. On a second occasion over the summer an indicator light came on in my car indicating engine failure. I immediately got my car over to the dealership whet after a day they deemed nothing was wrong with my car. As I drove it home from the dealership the light came on again so I took my car to a separate repair service station where the problem was fixed.

All things considered, everything went well. My car was still drivable so I tried to schedule a service for a Saturday appointment but
I needed it back for a Monday morning trip. They told me just to bring it in Saturday morning and it would be fine. I was nervous because they didn?t ask exactly what was wrong or worry about ordering any parts proactively. I dropped it off Saturday morning and never got an update until I called later in the afternoon. They said the car was ready and I could come get it anytime. I would have appreciated a little better communication and if things didn?t work out like I was planning them to, this review may have been written a little different. They did seem nice and obviously ended up taking care of me like I needed.

Overall, the work performed was satisfactory, but I was never notified that my vehicle was ready.  Granted, it was a Saturday (first come first serve service), but I was about the fifth car of the day at 7am and had to call just before close to check on the status.  It appeared all the other customers ahead of me had already picked up their vehicles.  As noted above, the brakes were never ordered and I have since to receive a call.

I felt they did a good job. They were very positive company to work with. They did what they said they would do in the time frame they gave.
