I called Doug and the first thing he did was ask me questions to determine if his process would be what I needed to achieve our goal with the floors. Once we established that it was, he asked for a rough estimate of square footage, so that he could give me a rough estimate of the cost. These things saved us both a lot of time. Too many times you cannot get a "rough" estimate and the provider comes out, spending your time and theirs, only to give you a price too out of reach that you do not find agreeable. After he gave us the estimate, which was fine, he then came out and did a precise measure and gave us a final quote. At that point we set up a date just a few days later, to have the floor taken care of.
The entire process took around 6 hours for approximately 800 square feet of floor. Doug brought Quentin with him to take care of the job. Both men made sure anything that could possibly be damaged during the process was removed from the rooms, china plates on the wall in my case, and also cleaned up when they were done so that it didn't look like anyone had done any work. Although you can walk on the floor the same evening, we waited until the next morning. Our floors had a couple of challenging places but overall was in great condition. I called Doug that morning to ask about something that did not look right to me in a few areas. He came back out quickly and brought everything he might need to remedy the situation. No waiting to make another appointment. We were happy that what needed to be done to resolve the problem was done that very same day in just a couple hours and the result was a beautiful floor that looks brand new again. Doug stood behind his product and his work, which is rare these days to say the least. If you want someone to take care of your wood floors who is courteous, professional, and honest, Doug (Mr. Sandless) is who I recommend you call. If he doesn't think he can do your floor and make it beautiful, he won't take the job!!

They moved everything, refinished the floors, and moved everything back.

They showed up on time and completed in 1 day. The floors were available that evening as promised to walk on. No dust or residual materials remained. I wasn't able to be home, but they were able to work it out with me to get this done while I was away for the day. The finished floors looked so good it revealed some issues with my hardwoods such as pet scratches, etc.... However, they did all possible to repair these issues to the best possible look. However, following the work I did begin to see a number of smudges on the surface which will not come out. Contacted them, they were surprised I was having this issue, but it still persists to this day. They do look better than before and the shine is great.

There were a couple of different crew. One crew was the one that installed the hardwood floor in the upstairs and I thought they were very efficient. They were definitely better doing their job and they had to move furniture and they were quick which was a good thing and sometimes I wonder if people are too quick but they were quick and efficient. The crew that did the refinishing of the floor in the kitchen, it's a much smaller area, they actually did not do a good job, and they left a lot of bubbles and particles in their work and the company sent back the first crew that had installed our hardwood floor and had the kitchen redone and recoated and that crew did a much better job but they did standby, that was no additional cost. Two different things happened, when the washer was moved in the upstairs laundry room, something happened and there was a leak caused and the new hardwood floor up there was slightly damaged and had the person come out and check that and it was not significant enough to replace any flooring. The other thing that happened when the refrigerator was moved by the different crew to refinish the kitchen floor, something happened with the ice maker and it caused leaks at the back of the refrigerator. Luckily we were having that area painted and within about two or three days, the refrigerator was pulled out and we found it a fairly severe leak and again they sent a person out because they knew they were the one that moved the refrigerator and that we stand by the work. The flooring has not been replaced which had buckled underneath the refrigerator and they said it would take three to four months actually for that flooring to settle which I was nearly shattered. They said they stand by their work. Today I would recommend them, I think I would be specific which crew I would ask for although I don't remember their names. They did take care of the situation even though it did mean more days that we cannot walk on our kitchen floor and we had to place our cats in special places and caused inconvenience but they did remedy the situation readily, with no reluctance. The pricing I thought was fair. We tried some other companies as well and of course took Angie's List recommendations and got $100 discount for Angie's List. They really did a lousy job on refinishing the floor and the other crew had to come back and redo it. The upstairs was great, the hardwood flooring was really done well.

The owner was great from the beginning and worked with our schedule. The floors look better than when we moved into the house and they were new.

Doug has been very responsive from the time we called him first. He finished nearly 3000 square feet of flooring in less than a week. We are very happy with his work.
