Now 4 months since the plumber came to the house for repairs as mentioned in a previous review. Woke up to a flooded kitchen from the water line that goes to the ice-maker. I have to give this company a big fat F for poor quality repairs. My advice- never, never, never use this company for any plumbing needs.

I called Grassland Plumbing this morning based on reviews from Angies list, and was pleasantly suprised that they could come out the same day for my plumbing issues. I decided to have all of the annoying little issues dealt with at the same time especially when I found out that they charge by the hour ( I figured I could keep the plumber busy for a few hours with these little jobs). Josh arrived at 10:10 am by his GPS and left by 12:15 by my clock (Total time in my home 2 hours 5 min). I was quoted a service charge of 50.00 along with 90.00 per hour to do the work. There was a minimal amount of material involved to caulk and T into a waterline to connect my ice maker but was charged 50.00 for the material. I can accept that most things in life are 'upcharged' but that seemed a little expensive. When I got the bill I was charged for 3 hours of time instead of two.
I called to speak to the owner to see if a mistake might have been made in the calculations and perhaps I was over charged. He response was very defensive and his tone of voice rude and told me that I was charged for travel time from Grassland to my home (usually takes me about 15 minutes, max). In past experiences with plumbers I was always told that the "service charge" was to cover travel time and wear-tear on their vehicle. He also told me (after the fact) that if the plumbers time went over into the next hour by even 5 minutes I would be charged for the full hour. I do not have a problem paying for quality work and it does seem like Josh did quality work (it has been 5 hours now and no return of the leaky kitchen faucet) but I do not appreciate it when the people that I hire are rude to me.
All in all, I am glad the work was done and Josh was very professional in my home but the rude and defensive response from his father the owner makes me wonder if he has had other folks confront him on his billing practices.
In the future I will be looking for a plumber who can respond to queries without being abrasive, really does work by the hour and does not have both a travel charge as well as a service charge.
Update: It has now been several weeks since the repairs were completed. I am unhappy to report that the water line to the ice maker does not deliver. I have adjusted the T valve in all positions and still no water. So I guess the problem did not get fixed after all.

It went great. He called me thirty minutes before the appointment to confirm I was home and ready. He arrived right on time and didn't need directions to our often tricky-to-navigate neighborhood. He did have to go to his supply house to retrieve the two parts he needed. But he was very quick, and back before he said he would be. He knows what he's doing, and was quick and efficient.

He's been very good to deal with so far. He's nearby. He's very pleasant. He seems to be a very honest, experienced plumber. He dealt with some recall information for me so I wouldn't have to. He didn't even charge a service call this time but will just save it for the next time he comes.

We had a drain in our guest bathroom that was clogged. The shower and the sink were really slow to drain. I tried to unclog it myself with a hand held snake, but couldn't get it unclogged. I called Wayne with Grassland plumbing and he was able to get it unclogged. He did a great job and was very professional.

We needed a new water regulator. He put it in, replaced a secton of pipe, put a water shut off on it. He also installed an ADA commode. The gentleman that came out was very pleasant and did a great job. I would recommend this company to a friend for any plumbing project.

The owner himself came out to do the work. He was helpful in coming all the way out here with a catalog to make sure I was getting what I wanted. He then showed up the stuff and put it in and it all went fine. He doesn’t like to overcharge people as he feels that it ridiculous.
