They are incompetent and they overcharge. Because of their inability to know what they're doing, they have caused damage to my irrigation system two years in a row and they refuse to remediate. This is a system in ground for watering your lawn. So when it's winterized, one drains the system and pumps compressed air to it and gets it nice and dry so that there is no water remaining, because if water remains in the system, it would then crack pipes and pop ups. They can't figure out how to get the water out. Two years in a row, when I turned the system on initially, there were broken components and I had to secure the system and fix it myself. I asked them to take care of it, but they wouldn't. The problem is, when you use a company like this, you don't know that they messed up until months later when you turn your system back on in the springtime. They don't show up when they say they're going to show up.

I have used Gold Star for the past five years.  They are very reliable, professional and good at what they do.  My lawn was a wreck when they started, and now my weeds are gone, my lawn is lush and my property looks great!  They are full-service: aerating/overseeding, fertilization, weed control, etc.

This is the guy you want to call when you want a quality job completed in a reasonable time and on budget. Working with Oscar was by far the best experience I've had with a contractor in a long time. I gave him a call, sent him the design I'd worked through, talked about his service, negotiated a price, met him at a nursery, tagged plants, and then he showed up with his crew and had my entire yard completed in 1 day. Other companies said 3-4 days and were thousands higher which seemed absurd to me based on what we were doing, but Oscar was reasonable and in line with what I expected to pay. I was very clear on what i wanted and Oscar respected my opinion but made suggestions if he thought there was a better way. It was a great experience and my yard looks terrific.

The only problem that we had on the project was that Gold Star did not let us know about an extra cost for more fertilizer. The yard looks wonderful though. They contracted out for the actual patio job, the construction of the patio that is.
