This service, like two previous services from Ford Roofing for roof leaks, went very well. This is the third time I have used Ford Roofing and they have always provided excellent service at a fair price. Their team leader Kevin Tuders is very easy to work with and provides very helpful information. I highly recommend Ford Roofing for roofing services.

Apr 2016
We bought a house in Nashville in December 2014 which had a new roof installed in December 2012 by Ford Roofing, hence the roof was about 2 years old when we bought it. I made sure to transfer the GAF roofing materials warranty shortly after. In December 2015 I noticed a roof related water leak in the attic behind where a turret is situated and called Ford Roofing to see if they would come look at it. When I called I asked how long my "Premium" warranty is and I swear the person said 10 years labor and 20 years on materials. I also was told there would be a $95 dollar service charge if they found nothing warranty related. Additionally I was told there would be a 6 to 8 week wait before they could come out and look at the roof. Three months later they called in early March of 2016 to come out and look at my roof. The work quoted above hopefully was done; I can't climb ladders and we haven't had enough rain at one time yet to see a leak.
About a week after the work was done I received an invoice for $195.00. No mention of warranty work, just the work described above and the amount of $195.00 to the right of it. So I wrote an email to Ford Roofing requesting a breakdown of the work done so I could see if I could recoup some money from my own insurance company. I also said that I had understood that I had a 10 year labor warranty and didn't expect any charges at all.
I received an email back saying Ford Roofing has a 2 year installation warranty and that was explained to me when I first contacted them December 2, 2015 and they aren't sure how I got the idea there was a 10 year warranty but the information is inaccurate. They also said they determined on March 14, 2016 (when they finally came out) that none of the repairs they made were due to defective materials or workmanship and if I disagreed I could take it up with GAF. And I never received the breakdown of labor that I requested so I wonder what I am going to talk to GAF about?
So I'm stuck paying $195.00 for the repair of a loose shingle, a torn shingle and the installation of a gutter elbow that I furnished, none of which is under any kind of warranty according to Ford Roofing even though the roof is barely 3 years old. And had I not heard "10 Years" would I have waited 3 months to have someone come out and look at my roof?

"It is unfortunate that the homeowner did not receive full documentation from the previous homeowner. It is also unfortunate that he had not read the GAF warranty paperwork. The "Systems Plus" warranty for material defects actually is longer than he thinks. If he has properly transferred the warranty, it is valid for his lifetime and is for full value for 50 years before prorating begins. It is important to remember that this warranty is for material defects only. Normal wear is not covered. Nor are acts of God, etc. There is no workmanship warranty. I would encourage anyone who no longer has their paperwork to visit the GAF website for full details. This problem was not in any way a material defect. I would encourage anyone who is even thinking about filing an insurance claim for $195 to call their agent before calling the claims department. In the extreme unlikelyhood that you had a deductible less than $195, any agent that I have ever known would advise against such a small claim. The insurance company would rate you unfavorably for a nuisance claim. On a lighter note, if you can find someone to climb up on a 2-3 story turret for $195, have them call me and I will give them a job."

they did not replace the decking they said they were going to. Also they blew a lot of asphalt dust everywhere.
Response from Ford Roofing Co LLC
"It is difficult to respond to this review because Ford Roofing Company, LLC has no record of named customer at this address or year. FRC roofed a house in 2008 at another address for a similarily named customer. In the 2008 job, FRC replaced one sheet of plywood orginally. The customer thought that another sheet of plywood should be replaced which FRC did before final payment for no additional charge. If we are missing something here, hopefully it will be brought to our attention because this review does not seem to make sense."

Horrible - see above. I wouldn't ever use them again as they failed TWICE in fixing my roof leak.
Response from Ford Roofing Co LLC
"Ford Roofing Company, LLC did contract with Pronet Residential at this address and complete requested repairs on 1/18/2010. During the "Nashville Flood of 2010" in May 1-2/2010 apparently additional leakage was observed and reported to us on May 19, 2010. On 6/2/2010 we did additional requested work and as witnessed by Pronet Residential could not make the roof leak when undergoing a water test. Based upon the complaint above, apparently no further damage occurred until the April 27-28/2013 rain (5-7inches). May 13, 2013 our offices received a call inquiring about our repair warranties which the complaintant accurately describes above. We didn't even know this homeowners name until we received this review and were able to identify the job from the physical address. We believe that the problem is the fact that the brick above this area has enough poriosity to allow water to leak through under heavy rain/wind conditions. We were told that the brick had been sealed previously. It is our educated opinion that this is the source of the problem. Ford Roofing apologies for any miscommunication. Housing maintenance issues are usually a source of aggravation and hopefully our ideas will help resolve the issues in this instance."

It went very well. They stripped old shingles, installed new plywood as needed and had all the shingles on in one day. The next day they came to complete a few last minute things. The clean up was very good and even came back the third day to steam clean the driveway in a few places where old shingles falling had left marks. My shrubs were well protected. Everyone I talked with were nice and accommodating. It was a good experience.

The steep roof was in the range of $12,000 something and the flat roof over the garage was $6800 so it was an enormous amount of money. I think the prices were high but we'd researched companies that were approved to install that type of shingle and found this company. Another one we found was more expensive than Ford's. There were a couple of things that happened that had to do with the flat roof, I had some leaking that was occurring and had let them know and I asked them if they could come over and just put a tarp up until they were ready to come because I was having a real issue in the garage and I was told that I really didn't need a tarp and it would be OK, which just wasn't true. I called again and they said they would have to special order a tarp and so I called and located one myself. I confronted the guy at the very end of the job and told him we had an issue with it and their not coming over and he said it would have been more expensive. So I said we were weighing $118 for a tarp, that I found, versus the ceiling falling in and he didn't have a very pleasant look. Also, when the job was finished, the guy wanted to come out on Sunday morning to go over the invoice rather than send it to me by email, but he really just wanted to pick up a check for the rest of the job. Now, the roof looks really good and I haven't had a problem with either one at this point. I think they did good quality work as far as I can tell and the people were pleasant to work with, it's just that the person managing the job blew it twice. They were here when they said they would be and even though they missed a day, they got it done within the week they'd estimated and the workers and their supervisor were professional. I would use them again because of the warranty but I'd do a lot of research first.
Response from Ford Roofing Co LLC
"We apolgize for the misunderstanding over the flat roof. Actually the problem was not that the tarp could not be installed on [member name removed] multi-level roof. The problem was that there was no effective way to install it so that it would actually help keep the water out. Unfortunately her roof needs arose in the middle of an extremely busy period caused by last year's hail storms. We sincerely appreciate the fact that she waited for a longer than normal time for our workmanship and believe that she will feel secure in her roofing for many years to come."

Ford Roofing got the job done well. Once I had my initial meet, they communicated very well, were punctual, efficient and immediately repaired the pressing problem. They outlined secondary repairs, and made those repairs over the next month with good communication at every step. The price seemed more than reasonable as the work was top notch. They were straight shooters in assessing my roof and the prospects for patching a tear down house's roof.

I spent around $14000 on that service. The sales person Ken Heartland that I dealt with was fantastic. He came out a couple of times before we contracted them and explained everything very well. He gave me several options about what I could do and followed through quickly when we made a decision and then came out. They also cleaned up after themselves and left, so it was a perfect interaction.

They were very good. They were very prompt. As a matter of fact, one of the times that I used them they were working on a neighbor's roof. We had just moved in here and asked them if they will take a look at my roof. They came right over after they had finished, and they did what had to be done. I was quite pleased. They were very reliable. They are a tough company here in this part of Tennessee. Their cost was not exorbitant. I thought it was reasonable as we have got a lot of windows. Three men worked on the house all day long. I was quite satisfied with them. I would hire them again.

It went really well. I contacted them via email. They responded within a day. I told them what I needed, they got someone out within a week and gave me an estimate, then started work within a couple of weeks after I hired them. They told me from the beginning, it would take a few days before they could start because of being extremely busy. Once they removed the gutter they discovered rotten wood. They called with a couple of options. Since it was going to cost more than they expected to replace rotten wood, they said it would be no problem to pay the difference in installments. They were very professional and once they started work it took about a day and a half to complete everything.

They showed up on the day promised and did the repairs needed. The roofer called me to let me know the cost would be $165 (even though he didn't have to). He even checked all the areas of my roof around the vents to ascertain there were no other leaks. I agreed over the phone to the price, and the work was completed as discussed. They sent me a bill, which I promptly paid. My roof hasn't leaked since, and we've had quite a bit of rain.

These leaks had been present for a long time, and several other companies in past had claimed to have repaired them. I found Ford Roofing on Angie's List, and after discovering that they had done a number of copper roofs on restoration projects here in town, decided to give them a call. They sent out a man to determine what work would be needed within two days, and he was quite courteous and professional. I had the estimate within 24 hours of that visit, and agreed to have the work done. Once on the schedule, communication was a little more difficult - I never did get a precise idea of where on that schedule I was, or how long it would be before they'd get to the job. Overall, I made two calls to the company to inquire about that, and didn't get a callback on either occasion. However, I -did- get a call shortly after my second inquiry that asked if that morning would be acceptable. Naturally I agreed. The workers arrived promptly, did the repairs quickly and efficiently, and had left before I even realized it. The bill for the balance due came a week later, and was paid promptly. The roof has not leaked since - granted there have been no truly /torrential/ downpours since then, but there have been heavy rains that lasted through the day - it seems that this problem finally really *IS* fixed. It's obvious that the crew that did the work knew exactly what they were doing. They were well equipped, and professional, and their price was reasonable. I would not hesitate to recommend this company to anyone.
