A few days later, he called back saying that the part is not in stock and he had to order it. He called me back again Dec. 17 and said it will take 5-10 business days. Thinking it is going to be the holidays, I figure, I will get a call from him after Jan 2. No call. I waited unti the next week to call him to check on status. No one picked up. I left a couple of messages on his cell phone. No return call after a few days.

I decided to call Old Republic to ask what is going on with the contractor. They directed me to the Authorization department and they came back and found that he had NEVER called back to Old Republic seeking reimbursement on any service order or parts. It was an open service call meaning he never contacted them on my work order. They found out that he is no longer contracted with Old Republic and he did not leave any reason. I pray that it was a medical condition that prompted him to leave the business without notice to any of his clients or the contracting company. If so, I hope he gets better but not leave his clients in the dark.
Old Republic is sending another contractor without me paying a service charge so that is good but it has delayed my appliance fix for another month...luckily, it was not an emergency.
I did check that Dunn Wright - Scott Thomas has an F in the BBB for non-responsiveness on products and services and that he has bad ratings on Angie's List as well.

We have used Scott for over 15 years on various home appliances and he has always beebread prompt, courteous, knowledgable and fair in pricing. When our refrigerator started acting up......not cooling properly we called Scott. He came out in a timely manner and told my husband that it was the freezer defrost unit gone bad and this was a common problem ith make and model. For $350.00 he could fix it right then and there. My husband was a bit taken back by Scott's demeanor and use of language but....we trusted him from our previous experiences so we allowed him to fix it. Refrigerator worked great for about 5- 7 days. I called Scott back to come out again to see what was going on with it. At first, he denied that he had come out and fixed it! After I explained to him and verified that he indeed cashed my check he remembered and offered o come back out. He was very hostile and we did not pursue this as we were very uncomfortable. Unfortunately our refrigerator is stll not working properly and we are out $350.00. Not sure what is going on with Scott but will not use him again and cannot recommend his services.

Came to our house to repair oven. Instead of removing 4 screws to take the back off he bent the back panel in half. I was stNding there trying to be polite and have a nice conversation when Scott looked up and said very rudely I do not need an audience. I guess he did not want me to see him bend the metal plate on the back of the oven in half instead of removing the screws. He then starts trying to correct my grammar and he did not have a clue what he was doing.
Of course the oven stopped working again two days after his so called repair. This is a strange rude guy. We will never use him again. The company we did use after him did a great job and were very professional.

Overall I was impressed and I called him again after my home maintenance insurance expired. I appreciated the fact that Scott took the time to explain why my dishwasher broke, and what to do to keep it running well. I thought he was reasonable and knowledgeable.

Professional from the get-go.  Fast and efficient service.  Will definitely call again for any repairs needed in my home.  There is no price that can be given for honesty and friendliness.  If you need the help this is one compay I would never pass up!!!

My icemaker had developed a very small leak and was settling down on the already made ice and then frooze up the whole bin in a big block. I called one of the other repair men on your list and explained the trouble and they said that it would need a new icemaker at a cost of around $190.00 I also called a couple other of the listed services and never even got a return call. When I called Dunn Wright, after explaining to Scott the problem, he immediately told me that it was probably some gunk that had developed causing the leak, that he had fixed them quite a few times in this area because of the chemicals in the water. He came out at 8 AM the next morning, took the inside of the icemaker out, cleaned it with CLR, put it back together and was gone in less than 30 minutes. I waited for a little while before making this report, because I wanted to see if it was really fixed. I am proud to say that I have not had the problem any more and would reccommend this man to anyone needing an appliance fixed. By the way, there was a previous report on here that called Scott very rude. Scott is very outgoing and seems to really be sure of what he is doing, even to the extent of sounding like bragging. That may have caused the person to say he was rude. I simply think that he knows what he is doing. I will sure hire him again in the future if needed.

From the moment I spoke to the company on the phone to the time they left, they were rude, unprofessional and wouldn't even complete the job. I had to hire someone else and will never call them again.

The price was fair for a service call. Everything was handled in a professional and fair manner.
