My guest bathroom toilet had a leak in it and as a result my first water bill was abnormally high. I called Mr Rooter based on their good reviews on here and they were able to come out the next day. Derek was the plumber that came out and he initially did not fix the problem as our toilet was still running. I called Mr Rooter back and they sent Derek back out to fix it again and this time he completely fixed it. Originally, they were going to charge me for 2 visits, but when I told them that it was a revisit because it was not fixed the first time, they told me that the second invoice would be waived. I thought the price was a little steep for what ended up being about a 15 minute fix (that I probably should have done), but I appreciate them waiving the second charge.
We called Mr Rooter and Tracy Melton, the franchise owner, responded. Our house is about 60 miles from his office. Our house is also built with 1.5 inch wide pipes (not 2 inch) and Tee fittings intended for fresh water piping, NOT for a sewer system. This meant that Tracy couldn't get his equipment to make the "last turn" into the clogged pipe.
He made a 2 hour trip when he left here at 6PM to get a smaller diameter hydroflush hose and nozzle, plus a video camera and returned the next day, but it couldn't make the turn either.
At this point, I asked about having to bust out the concrete and replace the pipe. Tracy refused to admit defeat although he didn't have a clear next-step in mind. He did think of something else to try. Tracy bought a new hydroflush nozzle, and it was able to make that turn. He blasted that clog into chunks that floated past the video camera and into the septic tank.
We attempted to pay Tracy after each visit but he refused any payment until the clog was completely removed. This was a fixed-price job, so he didn't have to wait to determine the total amount we would owe. He refused any payment until the job was completed to his satisfaction, which meant 100% of the drain pipes were scrubbed clean. He's friendly, courteous, professional and has the highest work ethic. He has our enthusiastic recommendation!
