From the order date to the install date was over a month. Originally, I understood that they would place the order the week I made the initial payment and that they would know by the end of that week when the materials would arrive, and they estimated it at two weeks outside. They were going to use that date to determine the install date. Did not hear from them until a Friday over three weeks later leaving me to wonder if something had fallen through and whether I should cancel the order. When I did hear from them, it was to be told they thought the material would be arriving the next day, but if not, the following Monday. The materials didn't arrive on either of those days, but we finally scheduled the install for a week later, which is what took it to over a month from signing the agreement to the actual install date.
The installers don't do this as their regular work (they work for a contractor) and one of the two guys on the job was experienced, while the other one was on his second day on the job. Both were very nice and they spent the entire day measuring, assembling the various pieces and drawers and installing the closet. The initial measurements made to add a mirror to the closet were very tight and that proved a problem for the subcontractors who did the installation.
Dusty, who works for Clearview and who made those initial measurements was able to return the next day and make sufficient adjustments to enable him to achieve my goal of having the recessed mirror at the back of the closet next to some shelves. He still has to return - in about two weeks, he said, with a replacement piece for one of the open shoe storage sections, one that was cut incorrectly by the installers. Knowing that these things can and do happen means that this is a minor inconvenience and I know that it will be addressed as soon as the new part comes in. However, I do hope that it is not another month and actually is close to the two weeks mentioned.
The design and the materials they used work for me, and no, I did not go with the highest priced, high-end look but went with the white materials to save some money on a costly project. The cost is not unreasonable, though, given that it is in line with the same work that I have had done out of state. Cost was also affected by several special features I had them add to the closet such as the recessed mirror that proved tricky to install, a pull-out hamper, and quite a few special shoe racks - two different styles, as well as the lingerie drawer inserts.
