Excavation
Before he could pump it out, I had to hire someone to dig off the dirt on top, and install a "riser" over the opening on top of septic tank. This cost more than the pump-out, but was needed to facilitate future pump-outs. The tank was about 2.5 ft under surface and the riser comes to where only about a foot of dirt will have to be removed next time pumping is required.
I had to go get the riser, and that is when the truck arrived. So, I was not there to tell him to stay off my newly repaired black top. However, no damage was done. Do suggest that someone be there to make sure your wishes are met. There was also a tree damaged - not sure if it was by the truck or the backhoe that dug off the top of the tank.
The work was completed in a timely fashion and at the appointed time, and THAT is rare among contractors!
