Used Angie's List coupon for free diagnosis and 5% off service.  I had overcharged the system; high side out of limits.  They called me to discuss their findings and even gave me tips to use the A/C more efficiently in hot weather.  Evacuated the system and recharged back to Honda specs.  It works great.  Good and honest people at Whitworth's; here's more proof:

Years back, my friend's 2001 Ford Escape quit running.  She had it towed to Whitworth Brothers.  Fuel pump replaced; nice job at a fair price.  This same Escape was my ride to pick up my Honda after the A/C service; 4:30PM, they close at 5:30.  We jumped into the Escape and, "boom", the transmission locks up in reverse.  What???  Called Whitworth's to report my dilemma.  Mr. Whitworth basically said, "You can come and take the Honda after hours; pay me later."  Then we discussed her Escape.  I just assumed that Whitworth's wouldn't want to handle a major transmission issue (some places can't) and anticipated a tow to a transmission shop for a VERY expensive fix (transmission problems scare me; they're always expensive, right?).  Mr. Whitworth said that it might not be major; they'd be willing to look at it, but could handle it either way, the option was still hers.  The Escape was towed to Whitworth's.  Not a major transmission fix; broken linkage replaced for a few hundred dollars, including the tow fee.  Again, nice job at a fair price.

I am rather reluctant to write all this for fear that Whitworth Brothers will become too popular and be "booked up" when I need them next, but I must be forthcoming here:  Whitworth Brothers = nice people, doing good work.

The group at Whitworth were very nice and great at explaining the details.  Work was perfect and reasonably price.  Great location!

I've had several of my vehicles serviced there and they have always been quick, very fair, and always friendly. I always go to them because it hard to find good honest people that don't charge you an arm and a leg to service cars.

They're not any cheaper than anybody else but they're extremely honest and trustworthy. They're not gonna fix something that's not broken. They stand by their work.

They are honest as they come!  I have no hesitation recommending them to any friend or family member.
The only complaint I would possibly be able to level at them, is that as a shop that doesn't specialize in any particular make, they may need additional time in troubleshooting.

I was very pleased with the price. My fear with another shop that I had been using for about 6 years was that they would simply replace the entire AC system to the tune of about $1200-1500. After reading the reviews, I was pretty confident that Rick and crew were not going to lie to me.
I explained that I beleived that the AC compressor was OK, but there was a leak in the front half of the system. They went over the system and found a leak in the 6 ft section of aluminum tubing towards the rear of the vehicle. It required removal for repair - they were able to patch the leak (it had rubbed against the transmission) with welding for $600.
Very pleased. I'll be bringing the same vehicle in for a tune up and motor mount replacement (discovered by Rick and crew) next month.
I feel comfortable recommending this shop based on my own experiences and the other reviews. More to follow next month after the next service event.

I have been taking many cars to Whitworth Brothers for the last 25 years.  My cars are almost always old when I get them, & I have been there with probably just about every problem there is.  My dad was going to give me his old car a while back when computerized engines were still new, & I checked with Rick first to make sure they worked on those type of engines.  They are honest, & will tell you if they don't think the car is worth the work.  They are a long way from my house but totally worth the drive out there to leave the car & go back to pick it up.  I have for years, & will continue to recommend Whitworth to anyone who needs work done on their car, no matter what type of car it is.

I've been taking my 1994 GMC Suburban to Rick Whitworth for many years.  He has performed a variety of repairs ranging from head gasket repair to door hinge replacement to replacing a radiator.  Many times I've brought my car in thinking the worst and left with a minor repair.  One time I had a strange knocking noise develop and I drove straight over to the shop and Rick crawled under the car right in the front drive when I pulled up.  He found my exhaust pipe was vibrating against the frame and quickly readjusted the support brackets.  The noise stopped and Rick smiled and sent me on my way with no charge.  Overall Whitworth Bros is a very honest and competent auto shop.  I feel very confident in taking my car there.

This company provides an extrememly honest and trustworthy service. If someone tells you that you need work done on your car and you doubt it, take it to Whitworth. If the work doesn't need to be done, they will tell you so. If it needs to be done, I highly recommend that you let them do it. All of the work I've ever had done her was done right the first time and my problems were solved. They tell you to bring it back if you have any problems. When they tell you what needs to be done and what the cost will be, they stick by it. This is really a great business to deal with.
