Money Mongers worst place ever and after paying $3000 dog still died and no positive feedback as to way and would not even call back after asking to speak to office manager

I was very disappointed in Memphis Veterinary Specialists from the check-in to the pick-up of my dog. The costs are astronomical as well. The woman at the front desk who we initially talked with was beyond rude. The veterinarian wanted to exam our dog in the back, not with us present. When I picked up my dog from her procedure on the next visit, two techs met me and had no idea what had been done and did not have any of the test results or CT scan disc available. I had to ask for it and wait....and wait. The veterinarian did not meet with me to tell me about the procedure results. Also, all emergencies come ahead of your pet who has an appointment. My dog was in a crate for over 6 hours before they got to her procedure. I felt that since my dog was not an emergency case it was rushed and not given the attention deserved. The cost $1300. All in all it was a negative and very expensive experience for me.

They've treated three of our furry children with the best medical treatment available compassion and TLC. The staff treats your pet as if he or she was their own pet. We are EXTREMELY pleased with the communication, care, and service provided.

My Gabby woke up on a Saturday morning with terrible pain an unable to move her neck. I had driven past Petmed on several occasions and hope to never need them. I was so glad they were there for us today. The entire staff was wonderful, cheerful and compassionate. Dr. Warner was extremely knowledgeable and personable. Gabby is on her way to recovering and I am forever grateful to Petmed and their staff!

These people are the cream of the crop and we're fortunate to have them in Memphis. Dr. William Miller is an outstanding veterinary ophthalmogist; he can do what no one else can. The staff are uniformly kind, pleasant and informative. The services are expensive (which is not to say unreasonable) but there's no alternative. Dr. Todd Tobias, the orthopedist, operated on a now-departed dog and the results were extremely good. Dr, John Sessions treated an elderly cat for heartworms with great knowledge and compassion. I don't know what I would do without them.

My 9 year old blind Cocker was very sick then I arrived home from work. I called Shelby Center and was referred to Memphis Veterinany Service for care. When I called the person that answered was very caring and directed me to bring him in for an exam. Upon arriving I was placed in a room and a short time later a tech came in to see what was wrong. I explained that he had cancer and gave his medical history. The tech took him back for weight and an exam. The tech was very gentle with him and talked to him as they went down the hall. After the exam the Vet came in to see me (I am sorry I do not remember her name). After telling me what was found during the exam, She gave me several options for treatment. Since there was not anything that could be done to make him better for more that a short period of time, I requested he be put to sleep. We were moved to another room there I could spend some time with him then the Vet came to check if I was ready. When I said yes she loving gave him the meds and he was gone. Needless to say I was very upset but the way everything was done was comforting. I left knowing he was no longer in pain.

I have had occasion to use MVS numerous times through the years. Ten years ago was my first visit, my mothers small dog was attacked by three large dogs and brutally mauled, and literally shredded. Though she was an older dog, almost 10, the doctors there saved her and she lived to a ripe old age of 15. Most recently, my elderly yorkie who suffered from chronic pulmonary problems, developed a pneumonia resistant to antibiotics. She was there for approximately ten days before she died and received round the clock care - I wanted them to provide her with the best, most humane, treatment and they did everything they could for her. The staff and vets at this clinic are perhaps the most dedicated I have ever had the pleasure to meet. The vets in most local clinics are fine for average illnesses, annual vaccines, and perhaps spay/neuter surgeries and the like. However, when your companion animal, and family pet develops a serious illness, there is no one in this region qualified to provide the diagnostic and interventional care you can receive at MVS. True, they are expensive, but the care you receive there is equitable to the care provided in a human hospital. I have come to appreciate the practicality of carrying pet insurance for my pets. I know I will do everything humanly possible for them and I also know I want what is best for them. Buying the best is going to cost - so my husband and I now maintain health policies for each of our pets.

It is a special clinic and there are really not much like that around here. It is the only option for a specialised veterinary care, a place where you can take your dog to see a dermatologist. I would continue to use this facility in the future.
