+ 1 moreI walked in on a Saturday morning with no appointment. They were busy and did not have availability right away, but i was able to be seen later that day for a hair appointment. I ended up going somewhere else for my nails, but I came back several hours later to get my hair done. My hair stylist was quite pleasant and worked with me to get the style I was looking for. I liked the salon. My only concern is that it was a bit pricey, but it was worth it. I would go back.
Description of Work: New to town. Was looking for a manicure/pedicure and a hair color/style.

Description of Work: I requested a deep tissue/sports massage with focus on shoulders, neck, upper back, and told her I had a tight TFL from running (TFL) that needed work. I told her that I get knots beneath my shoulder blades. The therapist spent nearly 15 minutes of the hour on my scalp and face and a couple minutes inhaling and exhaling the aromatherapy. She didn't know what the TFL was and asked if I meant IT band. It felt like she had a standard routine that she followed despite what I requested. There was no trigger point or active release therapy used, and she didn't seek out tight spots to focus on or massage the entire muscle from origin to insertion points. She was very friendly, professional, and courteous, but I left and felt like I missed out on the therapy piece that I was seeking. I did provide feedback on the pressure being used, and it probably would have been fine if I didn't get the massage for a specific purpose.

+ -1 moreEvery aspect of the service was professional and relaxing. The massage area is located in the basement of the building, so you are completely secluded from outside interruptions. The staff was very helpful and punctual, and they offered me a glass of cucumber water after my massage. I wish I could afford to come here every month!
Description of Work: I had been given a $50 gift certificate. I received an hour-long massage.

+ -1 moreOf course this was my first visit but it was with women named Mary. She was very professional and easy to work with. I thought I would go back to them again. It is a clean and well maintained big facility. I think the prices are reasonable and competitive.

+ 0 moreI expected the service to be good, but it was wonderful. i fell asleep during the massage, and it was exactly what I needed; it was so amazingly comfortable and relaxing. Besides, I prefer it when massage therapists don't engage me in conversation, and I am afraid of coming across rude if I tell them that. A 30 minute massage is a tease, 60 minutes is good, but a 90 minute massage is perfect. I am glad that Gould's was willing to accommodate my request. For the facial, I have never had a facial before, but the person performing it was very sweet and easy going. I don't think facials are something I will continue to get, but not because of her or Gould's. She made it easy to relax through something that wasn't quite up my alley. After everything, there was plenty of water, and I felt very at home with them. I made sure to leave a tip of $25 among the two of them.
Description of Work: I had a $100 spa finder gift card, and the only place I could use it near me was Gould's. I bought the Men's spa escape, and asked for an extra 30 min massage instead of the manicure along with facial. Total was $150.00

+ -1 moreThe spa was very clean and the staff was very welcoming upon my arrival. John gave a wonderful deep tissue massage and I even ended up falling asleep. It was a nice, cozy room and John was an excellent massage therapist! My ONLY and quot;complaintand quot; would be that the entire building was a little on the warm side. Other than that, I will be returning to John at Gould's Day Spa again in the future! I left feeling a ton better than when I arrived!

+ -1 moreMy Daughter and I love to go get massages at the same time and we have used Gould's on Germantown for years. We never have a problem getting an appointment and we never wait more than a few minutes when we arrive. It is a great masssage and I highly recommend them.
Description of Work: I was given a 1 hour massage for Mother's Day. I called on a Tuesday and booked an appointment on Thursday. It was a great massage and I will definitely go back!

+ -1 moreThe reception area is very comfortable and iced lemon water is available. My services are alway prompt. May will dig out charge card from my purse, or keys if my nails are still wet. We have wonderful conversations and she never fails to ask about my children and grandchildren. She is a dream!
Description of Work: MAY LOR has been doing my nails for years. I had to change my next appointment and a receptionist said MAY was not available. When I told MAY about this today, she changed things arround so she would be able to do my nails. MAY has also come in on her day off for me, and has given we wonderful advise. When my daughter was married, she stole MAY from me. She only wanted MAY!
