Lowe's Home Improvement - Collierville

I had to lift it up for it to function because of my main door.

They were straight "A"s. They came out to do the estimate. He went around the room and took measurements and put them in a computer. He went back and sent the estimate into Lowe's carpeting and flooring department. They called me, and I came in. They went over it with me. I accepted the price. We scheduled a time for them to come out. They came out, ripped out the old carpet and padding. They installed the new carpeting and padding. It took one day; about six hours. They did a really good job. They did a really good job of making the seam. Carpets for a wider room, you have to make a seam. They cleaned up after themselves and hauled off all of the removed carpeting and padding. There was a couple of places where they had to add new tact strips to the stairs. This was all upstairs carpeting. The contractor's that built the house didn't do a good job on the tact strips on the stairs, so they installed new tact strips.

I was disappointed when I went to Lowe's and expected to find what I needed in stock in the lumber area. The selection of pressure treated lumber was extremely disappointing  and there was nobody available to help me out if I did find what I needed.

The lumber that was there appeared to me to be end of summer, left overs.  I am writing the review because it appears to me that when I go in the evening to get items for my weekend projects there is no knowledgeable individuals around and it is very disappointing not to have items in stock.

It was frustrating and wasted too much of our time. We are new to the area and twice we have been in Lowes to purchase items. First time a lawnmower and the second time appliances. Both times department managers were helping us supposedly but said they were paged for something else and would be right back. Well guess what, Each time neither one returned and both times we ended up going to HH Gregg. We've been Lowes customers for decades. Not anymore. We suggest HH Gregg. Customer service is amazing.

Lowes garden center personal are always very knowledgeable and helpful. This particular day I needed ground cover mulch. I had found a particular brand that I liked and was starting to load up a cart with 20 bags of it. One of the workers told me to just pay for it, drive around and they would have it waiting for me. Which the did and even assisted in loading.

The installer from Lowe's Home Improvement - Collierville was excellent. He gave good suggestions. The only thing we had negative was when they came out the second time to fit the marble or granite in. The guy was very sloppy and we had it redone. They corrected it. They were quick to fix it but it was an extra piece of work to add to it.

The installer came within 2 days. He was very professional and made a detailed sketch of our layout: three bedrooms, seven closets, two bathrooms and a hallway. We went back to Lowe's to try and match an existing carpet sample, but not butted up directly. We found a match and received a cost estimate immediately for carpet and installation. We then did a second estimate from a competing location. This took another 5 days. They were too high, so we went back to Lowes in Collierville. As it turned out, the carpet we initially chose was no longer being made and Lowes went the extra mile to match what we had initially picked out. It was a softer carpet, but the color was a very close match. They gave us an additional 10% as a veteran off the cost of the carpet. We also bought stainmaster for carpet and padding so there was no charge for installation. Within 5 days our carpet had arrived and within two more days we had out carpet installed. We also paid to have our furniture moved. As painful as it to be invaded and move and quot;stuffand quot; from 7 closets; I can honestly say this was an excellent experience. Lowes in Collierville, carpet division is excellent, and has very competent expert employees. This was a very positive experience.
