Mike did not oversee his workers, who could not speak English. They were obviously not trained and they filled up all the skimmers with giant chunks of concrete as they worked. When a man finally came to oversee the work, he had problems with English too. He told me that this was their last day and they were leaving for Nashville, TN the next day. They said they couldn't finish the work because Mike hadn't brought them the materials yet. I called Mike and received no response. I had to ask the overseer to take some slate from the ground in my back yard to cut the replacement waterfall overflow pieces so they could finish that area. The left without sealing the grout on the new brick, they left rock chunks in the skimmers in the pool and hot tub. They screwed the metal covers over the rocks in the hot tub. They didn't caulk around the hot tub, they didn't put the lights back in the pool nor the water flow covers. They broke our skimmer baskets and never replaced them. Need I say more? After finally getting to the point of begging Mike Durham to come and finish our pool and getting his promise to show the next day, still no show. Still suffering and paying another pool company to complete Mike's work and repair damage done from his work. I am paying a pool company tomorrow to have all the bricks cleaned with acid because Mike never had the grout sealed. One of our skimmers still no longer works properly. i called several times and Mike would say, "I will be there tomorrow. I am home all day. He never came. I finally went on line and reported him to the Better Business Bureau. Mike came the next day. He stated that he had a special needs child (I have one too). He didn't want me to hurt his business. I felt bad. He promised to have all of the problems resolved the next week. I foolishly trusted him and reported to the Better Bus Bureau that the matter was resolved. Mike never showed up the next week. I haven't seen him since. Neither has he ever returned a phone call since then. I tried to report to BBB again. They wouldn't allow it. You can only complain once and if you state it is resolved, that is it. Mike also had told them it was my fault because I didn't maintain my pool. I have a polaris and a pool guy that brushes the pool and maintains the chemicals. Mike lied. He also lied to me repeatedly when he stated he would come to my house the next day. I then mailed Mike a Certified Letter explaining what was going on with the pool and telling him that we would have to hire someone else to finish his work if he didn't take care of the problems. The letter was sent 3 times. He refused it and it was returned to me unopened. I have all the photos and receipts showing what work had to be done for the pool's completion and repairs. The latest bill is to be here in a couple days. We have spent thousands of dollars repairing the mess Mike Durham is responsible for. Our next move is to go to court. If there are others out there with the same experiences we can file a suit together. Mike told me there was only a year warranty on the pool. This in not correct. We have 7 years to file a claim.
