After experiencing intense pain, I was referred by the local emergency room to Dr. McIntire for treatment of a probable kidney stone. He confirmed that I had a large stone in my right ureter. The first procedure to retrieve the stone was unsuccessful, so I had to subsequently undergo another. This was successful. There have been no complications and the follow-up visit was positive.

He let my husband suffer for almost a year. He said that he had some kidney stones only to find out that he has an enlarged prostate. He charges his patients fairly but it is just his disregard with the condition of his patients that I find very disappointing.

My 90 year old mother had kidney stone surgery at SkyRidge and was then passed off to Jackson for a followup consultation. To the best of our knowledge, the problem had been solved. However, when we got to her appointment, she was told that the stones were still there and that she would need another surgery by the end of the week.....no "Hello, how are you?" ...no cordial exchange of pleasantries to help settle her nerves, just "This is where we are, this is what you have to do, see you later 'Bye' He was too abrupt and sent my Mom into an emotional tailspin that caused a plethora of other problems. I realize that there could be a flair up of pain in the future but the situation could have been dealt with very differently and, if there is a need for their services in the future, you can bet we will not be making an appointment with Dr. Thacker to get the problem fixed.

Diagnosed in August 2008, treated for Prostate problems, high readings, did some treatments that seemed to work for a while, then when the cancer returned, the follow-up treatments were not adequate. By the time he would listen to my dad's problems, and we insisted he do further checking, he still seemed to be of the opinion that the cancer was contained in his prostrate and had not spread. When he finally did some tests, and put him in the hospital after many visits (Sky Ridge Hospital is another nightmare), he was treated to clean out his prostate so he could have the catheter removed, but it didn't work. He was then brought back to the hospital numerous times because he could not go to the bathroom (urinate) and had to have the catheter put back in. By the time he went in the last time, March, 2011, it was downhill, the cancer had spread throughout ,major organs, we were shown the MRI and it said "too numerous spots to count. He died May 15, in Hospice Care. Hospice of Chattanooga was wonderful. He died at home.
