It is with a heavy heart that I must bring this complaint against a fellow contractor but he has given me no other option. In this package you will find documentation supporting my accusations. I am requesting the contractor, John Eric Lawson of Southeast Construction License #57295 complete the project in Cleveland, Tennessee by requesting a final inspection and getting us a Certificate of Occupancy. I am also requesting a license revocation on the grounds of fraud and conduct unbecoming of a contractor. The total billed for this job is $70,127.91. I believe this is above his residential limit for his license. If I am correct then I am requesting action be taken. Eric moved the resident (my mother in law) in the home and had not called for the final inspection and did not have the C.O for us. Cleveland Electric has sent her a letter and will turn the electricity off on May 10, 2010. She is 86 years of age. Eric needs to take care of this and prevent the electric from being turn off. Now he refuses to do this. His reasoning is the bill has not been paid in full, however if you review documents, you will see that he doubled billed us for $8800, Charged us for 4724.21 of standard contractor expense (dumpster, toilet rental, corrosion control, yard prep, (his equipment tore up the yard) demolition, which we paid for and a water, which was part of the ?replace all systems?, and exceeded approved limits by $6820. To make Matters worse our last payment of 10,500 was never credited. It just disappeared. The cabinets are not what we thought we were getting. They are cheap pressed wood cabinets with a vinyl face. The counters tops were to be a specific Formica with a specific edge and what we got was a cheap generic, which was not even close to the color, border or texture order. Eric started to develop a pattern of ignoring us and proceeding without our approval. He was warn about this did not good.
Description of Work: I do not have any problems with the quality of his work, however his billing practice are absolutely terrible
