I hired Tony Michael (D/B/A Tight Lines by Tony) in early August 2013 for a painting job in my home which Tony estimated would take one week. This time estimate was consistent with estimates from several other painting contractors who had also bid on the job. Tony's crew did some of the work, but a large part of it was subcontracted (without my knowledge or permission) to another painter. This subcontractor damaged a coffered ceiling in my master bedroom beyond repair, such that ALL the trimwork in that ceiling had to be replaced. Tony agreed to cover the labor and materials for this repair. He said that he would pay the trim carpenter directly but wanted for me to buy the materials upfront and he would reimburse me, as he was unable to immediately purchase the materials. I reluctantly agreed to this unfavorable arrangement, and did so only to avoid delays in getting the repair completed. Tony selected the trim carpenter, but ultimately the person did not show up to do the work. Tony later selected a different trim carpenter, who promised to begin the work on 09/09/13 if I had over $1100 worth of materials delivered to my home by that date. He planned to charge Tony directly for his labor, which he quoted at $1200. I ordered the materials, and had them delivered by noon on 09/09/13, but the trim carpenter did not show up. I called him on 09/10/13, and he said that he decided not to do the job because he did not trust that Tony would pay him. At this point, over a month had passed since I'd hired Tony to do the work, and in the meantime I'd not had use of my master bedroom. So, I asked a trim carpenter who was doing work elsewhere in my home if he could complete the repair, and he agreed to do so. I immediately called Tony to inform him about the situation. My trim carpenter started the job on 09/10/13 and completed it on 09/13/13, and charged $900 for his labor (which was much less than what the previous trim carpenter was going to charge). I paid the trim carpenter directly, and am awaiting reimbursement from Tony (for both materials and labor, which total roughly $2000). Prior to the fiasco with the master bedroom ceiling, Tony's crew did some painting in my home which was presented to me as "finished," and for which I paid $2755 (CK#6465: $1555 and CK#6474: $1200). However, I later discovered that this work was not done to specifications. The first bill I was given covered multiple items, including the painting of crown molding in my master bedroom and bathroom. This crown molding was originally painted with oil-based paint, and was supposed to be repainted with the same paint (which I supplied), but Tony's crew repainted it with latex instead. Latex is not supposed to be used over oil-based paint, and this was certainly not what I requested. Due to this error, this crown will have to be taken down, and new crown installed and painted, which will likely cost between $500 to $1000. In addition, the first bill covered painting the walls in my master bed/ bath. These walls were painted, but while I was writing the check, one of Tony's employees (without my knowledge or permission) was upstairs "patching" the walls that had just been painted. So, these walls now have multiple patched spots all over them, which will now require completely re-painting both rooms. Tony's second bill covered repainting ceilings throughout the house, which I reluctantly paid since he hadn't corrected the problems associated with the first bill. In addition, there were workmanship problems with the ceiling paint job, too. I did voice my concerns to Tony, and he promised that he would be back within the next day or two to take care of all these issues, so I trusted him to do so. However, since that time he (and his employees) have been extremely unreliable, making multiple empty promises which have been disruptive to my family (as we have consistently canceled family events and waited on him when he, or his employees, were supposedly coming). I am seeking reimbursement of $2014.97 for the repair on the master bedroom coffered ceiling, $1000.00 to replace crown molding in the master bedroom and master bathroom that was painted with latex paint instead of the oil-based paint I supplied, $300.00 to repaint the master bedroom and master bathroom walls, $50.00 that was charged for paint stripper (which contributed to the damage caused to the master bedroom coffered ceiling), and $700.00 to repair workmanship issues related to the ceiling painting.

Tony and his crew were great. They were prompt and ready to work every morning at 7:00am. They are all hard workers and really care about their work. They are excellent painters and all around nice guys. I have lived all over the country and they are the best painters I have ever hired! They are trustworthy guys. I never felt concerned about leaving the house to run errands while they were painting. They took care of all my belongings and were very kind to my 4 dogs. They were easy to get along with and were willing to work around my tight schedule. This is the second time I have had them paint my house. They painted my house 3 years ago and did an excellent job. Their prices are very competitive. They did not just paint my walls but customized any room as I requested. They repaired walls, painted walls, and also painted all my trim throughout my house. It was a large job and they did it well and very professionally. I would highly recommend Tight Lines by Tony to all of my friends and neighbors. I could not be more pleased with my beautifully painted walls and exterior. Thanks so much, Tony, Clint, and Joe! You put my mind at ease and made my house look like a million bucks!

The work that they do is great. When all is said and done, the interior painting of my house looked amazing. HOWEVER! I was left with nothing but a mess to clean. And for what we paid, they should of left my house how they entered it. Instead, I was left with drywall and popcorn ceiling debris all over my brand new carpet, fixtures, and appliances. They did not lay down any protective plastic on anything. Even when both my realtor and myself requested they do so, there was no hearing it. No matter how good you think you are, any professional would agree, the customer is always right. Although they do amazing work.. for what we paid, it's not worth the mess to clean.

Overally, they did a nice job. Not too much overpainting and there was splatter. I did notice after they were gone that there was a large dent in one of the metal frame pieces that supports the drywall in our master bath but since I did not catch that until after the inspection, I let it pass.

I called Tony on 27 June and he came within an hour to give me an estimate. We worked out a price that we both felt comfortable with and I told him I'd give him a call. I called him with a few questions and asked exactly how much the paint would cost. He said he'd call the paint store and call me back. Minutes later he called back with all the info I needed. He and his crew came the next morning (today) at 730am. They were very quick at unloading their equipment and getting in our home and starting the job. I was home the whole time they were working and they were efficient! They all worked very well together. It's very obvious that they know what they're doing. They were done with all of our ceilings by 130pm (his 2 crew members even worked through lunch) and clean up took about 20 minutes.
My ONLY gripe was the one of the men used the ledge in our stairway as something to stand of (which I personally painted the night before); he also stood on our window seat to paint.
Overall, really a great experience! I would refer Tony and his team to anyone who needs painting done.

We have used Tony's services many times and they always do a great job. Their work was clean and efficient and priced well below the competition! And it surpassed my extremely picky husband's expectations (a very difficult task). They first painted our house in April 2009 after I attempted to touch up some spots with the wrong color paint... bad! The house was about 2500 sqft and they sanded and painted all the walls, doors and trim. We spent about $2,500 +/-. Shortly after having the house repainted, we sold it and purchase a new home that we also hired Tony to repaint. It was apx 3600 sqft, of interior sanding and painting in addition to about 600 sqft of covered porch and deck to be stained. We spent about $6,000 +/-. We've referred his servies to my In-Laws who had them paint their home they were about to put on the market. They were pleased with his services and recently re-hired him to stain the exterior of their log cabin. Their services come highly recommended!!

Tony did a great job and I would be happy to have him come back out and do some more work in the future. When we called Tony it was in the middle of the afternoon. Tony let us know that he was just finishing a job and would be over within the hour (this was one of the fastest arrivals for any estimate that I have had done). Tony looked around the house, provided us an estimate, and once we let him know that we would like his service he gave us a estimated work date (started the next week which was perfect). We had some problems with the weather (cold and rain) but he was able to finish the job quickly. He explained any problems that he had since our windows were old and had been painted a couple of times before. There was some overspray and some chips still on the deck and in the yard but I am fine with finishing up with those. The finished product was great and we are really satisfied. The only reason I gave him a "C" on professionalism was due to some of his crew. I am not a smoker and I do not care if someone else smokes outside my house. The only problem I have is the carlessness of cigarette butts thrown after someone is done smoking. All they need to learn to do is to throw the butt in their pockets until they can get to a trash can and throw them in there. If it were not for some carlessness, I would have given him a "B" or even an "A."

Came out for an estimate and stated they would charge $300 plus the cost of paint. They get their paint from Sherwin Williams which seems to be of good quality at a reasonable price. The actual painting of our living room turned out great. There were a few spots that we needed to touch-up, but those were very minimal. What's really impressive about their painting is they do such an amazing job around the baseboards! The only reason I wouldn't use them again was because of the professionalism of the painters. They took several breaks (which is completely okay because they did the job so quickly) in which they smoked in my front yard and threw their used cigarettes in my yard! That is just completely disrespectful. Also, they asked if they could use the backyard water spicket to clean their equipment. Our waterhose was hooked up to our yard sprinkler. The next morning I noticed that they broke the sprinkler when they detached the waterhose. I understand accidents happen, so I really wouldn't have cared if they just had mentioned it to me at the time. The fact that they said nothing and tried to cover up their mistake is what is very unprofessional.

Very good overall. Some issues with vulgar language from one painter, but he was not part of the normal crew. The painters scraped some old paint from the back door frame and left it on the deck after they left. The owner is professional, and the prices are reasonable.

He came out, gave an estimate and talked a good line. I hired his group to provide the services above. I just had new carpeting, vinyl and hardwood flooring installed the end of March 2010. He said he would protect the floors by covering them up. His estimate included his crew moving the furniture, which he said would be in to the middle of the room and cover it up. He failed to cover up my floors and furniture. The popcorn ceiling debris and drywall dust got all over the carpeting, in the grooves of the hardwood, all over my furniture and all my other belongings. My flat top stove was broken by it being stood on, a solid oak pedistal table was broken ( the pedistal was split into THREE peices), a white 3 door cabinet was broken completely in 2-3 pieces. He did not tell me this, I was walking through the house and found it. When confronted, he pretended not to know how or who broke it. He took absolutely NO responsibilty for this and it is his 'company'. Everything was always someone elses fault. Someone stole my pain medication and muscle relaxers. My doctor could not replace it, so I was in pain for 3 weeks until my next appointment. TONY was standing on my new end tables. Again he tried to blame someone else, but, the shoe print matched HIS shoe. When I confronted him he reached over and wiped the table and said, " See, it went away". That was not the point, HE SHOULD NOT HAVE BEEN STANDING ON MY FURNITURE!!!! This is the same furniture he said would be "covered and protected". No paint hit my walls until Sunday, which they started on Thursday evening. I had to pay for "materials" for the ceilings and then he STOLE the crows foot brush used to texture the ceiling and TWO "knock down knives". Those should have been left here but he took them. He piled their trash and buckets behind my house and left it there, his crew smoked outside and threw their cigarette butts in my yard and driveway, threw cans and cups in my yard. He called me 'stupid" and was hateful. My daughter got scared and called my neighbor. He DID NOT DO WHAT HE CLAIMED HE WOULD DO. My husband fired him on Sunday, the forth day, but, it was the third full day. His estimate said 3-4 days tops. When Sunday was over, there was absolutely NO WAY he would have been done on time. I had to hire a new painting company to come fix and clean up his mess. I also had to hire a cleaning crew to clean the house as best they could. My vinyl flooring in the kitchen was ripped in two (2) places and peeled up in one small spot. THIS MAN DOES NOT RESPECT ANYONE OR THEIR BELONGINGS. I had to get an attorney because of the mess he made of my home. He was given the opportunity to make it right by paying for the cleaning crew and a painting crew to fix the mess and finish the job, but, he refused. He kept me so upset and nervous that I finally broke down crying when my husband got home. Medication and Mercury dimes and statehood quarter maps were taken. NOTHING WAS CLEANED UP!!!!

It was a job I had begged to get done for a couple years. The major stumbling block for my husband and I was the massive furniture we have in that room. It is large and very heavy. It actually took 3 men to lift and move it. Tony brought me paint samples to select paint or gave me the option to purchase my own paint. (His way was cheaper!) He used good quality paint. They removed my old border - then preparred the room for the painting. Everything went quickly and smoothly. When they finished the room, all debree was gone. No paint splatters and we had nothing to clean up! Great! Best Christmas present I ever got!

Things went smoothly. The painters came weather permitting (show up on a Sunday since it was the first nice day). Only down fall was they didn't clean up the paint scraps off the front deck. Over all everything looks great!

When my husband and I bought our house we mistakenly thought that it would be a breeze to paint all the walls ourselves! After our first room, we decided to call someone in to paint our house for us since the entire inside needed painting. Tony and his crew were absolutly wonderful! On the first day, they prepared the entire inside to be painted by lunch time, then by the end of the day they were pretty much finished with painting all the walls, this includes all seven colors that I had chosen. On the second day they painted all my trim and doors! They then proceded to come back and hang all my doors back up after they were finished, as wells as fix anything that i wanted them to, although i must say there wasnt much to fix! I am amazed that in only a couple of days and for a great price I now feel like i have a brand new house! I wouldnt use any one but Tony and his team! Tony is the biggest critic himself, especially when it comes to his custom work, and i would recommend only him to anyone who asks! I also feel the need to throw in how friendly Tony and his team are, and they all speak English! I was home the entire time they painted and it is crazy awsome how they paint, they have so much expierence that they paint freehand, and they do it in such a timely manner, at the right price! If you want someone who is not going to b******** you, and get the job done the way you want it or better, I would call Tony. For all my future needs, i know that Tony and his crew are the only ones that I personally trust and respect!
