I traded in a car in order to purchase the Nissan with the understanding that the loan on my trade-in would be paid in full in accordance with the sales contract I signed. In Tennessee, an auto dealer has 30 days to pay off the loan on your trade.

About three weeks after the sale, I started getting calls from my bank telling me I owed a payment on the car I traded in. I explained the situation and was informed the dealer had NOT paid off my trade in. The bank has been calling me 4-6 times a week. I contacted Cindy at Harold Mathews and left her a voice mail which was not returned. When I called a few days later, she denied receiving my message.

The dealership claims they sent a check that was never cashed by my bank. Then they claimed the "new check" was going to be mailed by overnight mail on the 18th of February, over a month AFTER I made my trade.
As of the 22nd of February, my bank has no record of any payment from Harold Mathews. In order to keep a delinquency from showing up on my credit report, I was forced to make a payment on a car I have not had in my possession since January 3, 2013. I am also required by law to maintain insurance on the car. 

I went to Harold Mathews Nissan in person and spoke with the general manager, Chris Bagwell.  Chris was very polite, helpful, and sympathetic.  It turned out the bank tried to apply the payoff to the WRONG car loan (a note that had been paid in full) because they had my account number(s) screwed up. Mathews Nissan did not receive the returned check or explanation from my bank (RBS Citizens) until after the 20th of February.

Overall, I have to give Mathews a rating of "C" because it did take more than a month to pay off my trade.  Also, one of the people I spoke to at the dealership (who was supposedly taking care of everything) was very rude and belittling when he and I would speak on the phone.

We had our friend working there and he was a salesman at the time of the sale of the cars.  Overall they were very good.  They did not treat our friend very well though he served the company for four years.  So I am not sure if I would recommend them or use them again.
