work looked good until we found out that they did not pull any permits on the work. no building, electrical or plumbing and then tried to say that it was my wife who said not to pull the to save money on the taxes each year when my wife told him to pull the permits because it was easier for him to do it then it was for her. had to fight them to do anything about it but once i called building and coded and explained the situation then they decided to hire a licensed electrician and a licensed plumber to fix the basement and do it the right way. the electrician and two workers worked all day to fix the mistakes and bring bring everything to code and after they completed it passed electrical inspection. plumber has to change several fitting out to the proper style of fitting a well as adjust the lift pump in the basement and add in a vent to the drain lines from the washer and the sink in the bathroom as there isnt a vent. the contractor has been trying to duck my phone calls to not have to deal with me. they still have to come back out and fix the drywall from the plumber and electrician as well from the original work as the finish on the drywall looked like crap. i will never use this company again and advise against using them as they talk a great game but cant follow it up with their work.
UPDATE
its been a year now and I am still fighting with the company to fix the drywall that looks like CRAP!!!!!! Talked to the owner George about the Warranty/Guarantee they offer because I am tired of them coming in and saying they will take care of it and it looks the SAME after each attempt. George told me he would bring in an EXPERT drywall finisher but when I told him that I had to approve this so called expert he got pissy and told me "I could either take it or leave it" that is his Guarantee. thats not my idea of a satisfaction guarantee but tomorrow George is supposed to come out to my house with this guy. This will be Georges first trip back to my house sine the initial estimate was given more than a year ago and every time we talk about my basement and how crappy it looks he always tells me THAT THE JOB HAS BEEN COMPLETED. Who the h*** told him it was completed cause I sure as h*** did not.
Now the owner has told me that he is NOT going to repair the work that they did because he did not like my attitude. I paid this old fat man good money and all he has done is blow me off like i am nothing. well i am here to tell u fat man i am not gonna lay down and let u screw me and the rest of clarksville like you want to.

The first day should have been my clue.
After tearing everything out they decided it was best to not move the pipe from
upstairs bathroom, so instead of it being open I have a small wall separating
the room. There was nothing major about the repairs they had to do but the
project dragged on for 4 weeks. The marble floors they did has corners popped
up here and there. The bathroom vent they installed is vented to my soffit and
not out of the house. They pop corned my ceiling after telling one of their
workers that I did not want that. The vanity they installed was a kitchen
cabinet with the tile on it done poorly as well. The toilet they installed was
larger than the previous toilet, since they did not move the outlet pipe the toilet
sits very close to the window. By close I mean 5 inches from the wall.
They came back to fix a problem with the shower tub faucet not being tight. It took an
over a week to get someone over to fix the problem. The only trouble was when
they fixed it the busted the dry wall in a closet and left it like that. Even
with all the issues if they had been close on the quote I may have been more
forgiving but they were over budget by 50 percent.
Don't use this company do the job yourself you will do a better job.

As he got into the job the price kept going up as he kept finding more and more things that had to be fixed. Promised before and after pics that I never received. Estimated the job to take a month. Work actually took close to four months. Lost rent the entire time. Insult added to my injury: I stupidly then hired this guy to manage the property for me, since I had had a terrible experience with local realtors doing the same thing. (What was I thinking?!?) He was even more unresponsive and I had a hard time getting him to return calls for three months. He was slow finding a tenant, constantly late depositing the rent, and then lost my tenant and bounced a check that was deposited in my account. All the while, he had every excuse in the book. BUYER BEWARE on this guy! Nice fellow with reasonably good handy man skills, but completely unreliable and full of excuises.

It was just a wonderful experience from start to finish. This is a very professional team concerned with quality and results. I was very satisfied.

Company seemed professional and eager to help with our problem. Promises of quality work were made. Open-ended estimate given due to unknown seriousness of problem. Also open-ended time frame given for same reason. Original time frame was a week to ten days, and it took 4 weeks. Problem was worse than originally thought. They did a great job tearing out and rebuilding floor and walls, cleaning up and hauling away debris. We were very happy with the progress up to this point. Unfortunately, something went wrong with the sealing of the marble tile on the floor and in the shower, which made it necessary to strip the sealer and buff the tile. At first they tried just polishing the tile, which didn't take off the sealer. Then they used a stripper, which caused the original sheen on the tile to be marred. In most of the shower, the old sealer was not totally removed. They came back more than once to fix the problem and left with the problem not properly taken care of, as well as care not being taken to prevent dust from getting all over the bedroom and the rest of the house. They offered to come back again, but by then we had enough of the mess the polishing was making in our house. We also lacked confidence that they could fix the problem. Also, in some places the grout was not done well with voids and gaps in it. I had to clean old sealer off shower tile and re-grout places on the floor where grout was missing. The marring of the tile from the stripper can still be seen, however. We paid the full amount billed with no argument. The project started with such high expectations but ended up with a sour taste in our mouth due to over promising and under performance.

Several things were done. There were a lot of rain delays We felt good that the work was finally done. The porch was the main project. My wife kept adding more requests and probably was the cause of the estimate being lower than,George, had anticipated. The outside contractors charges were more than he imagined. We felt pity for him and gave more than the bill was. We think that we deserve the company's attention to repair what should have been done in the first place.

The company came here and wrote us a contract that they would be done with this house by Thanksgiving for $125,000. I talked to him the day before yesterday and he told me that the house was going to cost double and we went to look at tiles yesterday for the floor. I called him to see how much to spend per sq. ft, and he told us it would be $3 per square foot. He then told me that it would be $270,000 for the job. I have a witness that would say that he told me that this would be the new price. He was supposed to order the wood flooring, and he is telling me that it will take until January 15th to get the floors. We called lumber liquidators to ask them how long it would take to receive the materials, and they told us 10 business days. He was being dishonest, and has been for a while. He told us in the past that everything was paid for, except the cabinets and the floor boards. The electrician told us that he was only paid for the rough in, and that he did not pay for the heating and air conditioning unit. We wanted different switches from what he wanted, and he went with the cheaper option. He will not let the electrician come back out and do the work. He only comes out here when we have a check waiting for him. You can contact building and codes in Clarksville and they will tell you the same story that I am telling you. They would not pass his inspection, so he contacted a structural engineer and got him to pass everything for him. The building and codes people had to call him and walk him through all of the mistakes. When they came back, he gave them a little piece of green paper that put the liability on the structural engineer. He wanted to build our cabinets. What he built was not up to my standards, and would have cost us three times to build it.

They actually were very nice to my toddler who kept getting in their way and they never got irritated with her. They were late the first day and didn't call me. The price was a little more than what they originally told me. They were late and a little overpriced, but overall their service was good. There was a little bit of miscommunication. It wasn't anything major, but it did wind up costing me money. I would use them again but I would nail down the price better next time.

Home Repair Co. is highly recommended for several reasons. 1. Only the best materials were installed. 2. The staff is professional, courteous, and considerate. 3. The workmanship quality is excellent. 4. The staff was punctual, was careful not to cause any damage to the property and cleaned-up job debri daily. 5. The owner is honest and kept all promises. He insures the job is done properly and adheres to high standards. 6. The owner and staff have a policy of "Doing it Right The First Time" 7. The job was started on the date specified and work was done consecutively every day until completely finished. 8. If something is found after completion and payment that is not satisfactory the problem is resolved quickly. I have hired many contractors over the years. I am confident you will also find Home Repair Co. to be the best.

I spent about $8000 on the job. I had received other quotes and they were all about the same. The guy just convinced me that he was the guy to do the job. I will not recommend him to others. He was highly overpriced and the work was not fine. I was very unhappy in the end about what the job cost me compared to what he said it would cost. He asked me for more money and I refused to pay the same. Now, the work is done, I can see that it was not done the way it was meant to be. I can see where the mistakes were made. He ripped me off. It was not a very good experience. The deck was supposed to cost me about $300, but it ended up costing $1400. The siding job was good, though. The windows that he put in were supposed to have screens on them. I am not sure where he got the windows, but they came without screens. When I asked him about the screens, he said he would get them. He never brought them. He told me that I could always buy them for $5 a piece. I ended up buying two screens for $80. He could talk his way out of anything; he was a good talker. He was punctual initially, but he did not show up later. I was very unhappy with the money I had spent. He totally put me off. I will not use this company again in the future.

I went to Angie's list. Three were listed. I called Home Repair Company and spoke to the owner George Bonagura first. He came to our kitchen table, asked what we wanted and my wife,Rose, told him. He gave us ,what seemed to be a fair estimate and explained that his company would be glad to do the work if we wanted them to. No pressure from him at all. Even though we did not have any food at the table, I felt that I was at the "Olive Garden", where everybody is "family". I had met an honest businessman and I was not letting that company get away.I told Rose, that I wanted to hire him right away. If he was good enough for Angie's List, he was good enough for us. It was the best choice i could make.If you use this company, ask to get Jeff.I can not say enough about this guy .What a hard worker and even tempered individual he is.He was very attentive to us and very polite. He sure knows his job.He is a credit to the company. The job went very smooth. It took a little extra time because of our special needs but everybody was so great ,professional and understanding.

We are a military family that moved and still had our house on the market. Since we were not in the area it was extremely hard to trust anyone with making repairs on our house and have them done to our standards. From day one when I called the owner I talked directly to him and he made me feel comfortable having them do the repairs. Since we were in a hurry to have these repairs done because of the closing date on our house, the owner sent 2 of his men to start working the next day and they completed the repairs I had listed within 48 hours. This company did not throw a huge estimate at me or charge me extra to have it done fast, instead he charged by man hours and by actual cost of material. He not only did the repairs fast, but did the work right. They sent me before and after photos and I am very happy with the job that they did and have recommended him to all of our friends still in Clarksville. They are extremely knowledgeable, and trustworthy.
