Spivey Construction

Met with Mr Spivey to discuss what I wanted / needed done. Discussed prices and benefits of available products.Set up a time to begin service . Service was begun and completed when planned. He called to let me know when he was on the way to my home ( as I could not be there) and he worked around my 2 outdoor dogs without any problem and even refilled their water bowl!

We were looking for a contractor to build a handicap ramp for my sister-in-law's house in GA.  Since we live out of the area, we relied on Angie's List reviews to find a potential contractor.  The other contractors we contacted in the area did not respond to our requests for estimates.  Mr. Spivey replied quickly to the request for an estimate on the job.  While his price seemed a bit high, the quality of his work was outstanding, and it included debris removal.  Once the job was started, he completed the work within one day.  Be aware that payment is in cash, check, or Paypal.  My husband saw the finished ramp about a month after the ramp was built, and he was very impressed.

I only had interaction with one person but he was very thorough, helpful, and explained everything.

They did an excellent job. We have recommended them to everyone we know. We would use them again in the future too.

The owner was very professional, but he is apparently out of town a lot, so he sends out his men to do job and they didn't always come through.  His men left the job unfinished in the back of the house but after a call to the owner, he personally came to the property and completed the work even adding trim to where fascia meets soffits and replacing two pieces of soffit at the rear of the property.   He felt really bad, apologized profusely and claimed he fired the man who left the job unfinished.  He threw in additional work for free.  I would use him again, although the price did seem a bit steep.  

Quick estimate followed by several delays. Sounded like a personnel problem. Owner of business ended-up installing them himself. Did a good job, just took a couple of weeks longer than promised.

On second story they installed GutterGlove. It was very expensive, so I only had installed where it was dangerous to clean gutters. Now that I have gone through the Spring debris season, I wish I had GutterGlove on all of my gutters, but it would have added an additional $3000 to the job. I had given specific instructions about where I wanted a down spout that were not followed. When I pointed this out, it was corrected at a lot of trouble on their part. All in all, a good construction company.

The project went very well. He did what he said he would do and communicated very effectively on the price and timing. Mr. Spivey was neat in appearance and I felt secure in giving him access to my home. He cleaned up after his work better than he found it. I rehired Mr. Spivey to do a 700.00 dollar project at my business and the job went well as expected. I had seen a new house Mr. Spivey constructed in The Arbors subdivision for a friend and was very impressed with the finish carpentry and the overall quality I felt in the house. He only hires quality sub-contractors and my friend was very pleased with his new house.
