Total lack of communication.  My garage door opener failed and under my home owners protection plan a service call was requested of Precision Door Service. No one called from Precision so I called them and they said the person that handled that was not in and they would call me. Two days later someone called to set up a service call.

Day 3 -The service person came. He checked the door opener and door, said the door opener needed a new circuit board and he would order it. He also pointed out the springs on the door were the wrong ones, I said just fix the door opener.  He said the board would take 3 or 4 days.

Day 9 - Still no part or service man. I called Precision and the person I needed to talk to was not in and would call me (Again) 2 days later and still no call.

Day 11 - I called ? said they would call back, AGAIN, no call.

Day 12 - called homeowner protection co., they will send an email to Precision to call me. Still no call, went to Precision web page and entered a service request with my work order number, finally received a call 2 hours later. They said the part had to be special ordered and should be here in 2 more days.

Day 13 - they called and said they would be here the next day.

Day 14 - they called and the part did not come in and will be here in 5 more days ? guess they never heard of overnight delivery. Later that day they called and were getting the part ?Overnighted?

Day 15 ? Service man arrived and installed the part, it fixed the opener. Had them do replacement of the wrong springs and put in new bearings, cables and drums. All good finally.

I forgot to ask for the senior discount, I am over 70 so they should have known I was a senior. Didn?t see any discount on the invoice.

Jerry B was very good and correctly fixed the door. Only problem is with the office communications and extremely long time it took to get the part.

The technician arrived on the initial installation date, and did not install the doors because he believed some of the items were unnecessary. About a week later he returned with the needed parts and replaced the garage doors (which included windows), the interior rails and other hardware. I took him most of the morning to replace two garage doors (one was a double door, the other a single door). The original doors (as installed when the house was purchased) were an incorrect size, did not fit correctly, and resulted in wide gaps that let cold air into the garage. Upon completion, the windows let in natural lights so the overhead lights no longer had to be left on, provided a seal to keep out cold air, and the doors fit the space perfectly. The color of the doors also matched the colors on the house. All the neighbors have commented on how well the new doors look. The company and installer did a marvelous job of scoping, selecting materials, and installing them. We reused the same electric garage openers... the installer removed the garage door openers and reinstalled them after the job was complete. All went well... great job all around. I would recommend them for any home garage door installation. Great company... great people.

I was contacted my Precision Door Service immediately after I requested service from My Angie. An appointment was made on the same day that I had requested help. The Techician arrived right on time, wrote up an estimate which I approved and began installing the garage door opener and all the required equipment. He also recommended installation of the 10 rollers and I approved and he began work. The Techician was outstanding and extremely knowledgable of what had to be done and completed all the required equipment installation. It was a real pleasure to have such a professional individual working on my installations. Precision Door Service is the BEST I have ever had to work on equipment in my homes and I have had over 50 years of home ownership of over 15 homes in every part of the country.

I called late Sunday August 10, 2014 but after several recordings I decided it was really too late to expect an answer. I went to their web site and entered the requested information to set an appointment for the following day, August 11. It was a very short time later I received a call in response to my email request to have someone come and fix a spring that had broken. I made an
appointment for Jerry to visit our home between 11:00 AM and 1:00 PM Monday, August 11. A short time later I received a
call back from my initial aborted call. The lady said she saw where they had missed a call and did I need their services. I explained I had an appointment and she verified everything while we spoke. Really, excellent communication. On Monday August 11 I received a call from Jerry that they were on their way and should arrive in about ten minutes. They arrived just past 11:00 AM as promised. So, great response to service queries and technicians who call and let you know they are coming. Add to that being on time and we're off to a good start. Jerry looked over the door and in a couple of minutes said it was a great door, but the rollers were inadequate for the size/weight of the door and prone to breaking after years of cycles. The door was installed in 2003. He pointed out where one of the two lift cables was starting to fray and the two spools (believe they call them drums) the cable wraps around had bad bearings. He recommended they install their door and quot;overhauland quot; kit. The kit (to the best of my knowledge) contains two springs, 10 nylon rollers, pair of torsion cables, 2 end bearing plates, a center bearing plate, and two drums which the torsion cables travel around as the door goes up and down. I believe I've covered most everything included in the and quot;overhauland quot; kit. Jerry said he had seen a number of garage doors with the same type rollers on my door break resulting in the garage door falling on the car parked in the garage. I felt no pressure, just took a moment to weigh my options. I will admit when I heard $663 ($598 overhaul + $65 service call) for the recommended overhaul kit I felt it was high. However a new door would probably cost at least $1500. They used superior rated rollers and better cable spoolers (drums). Combined with a five year warranty, something I didn't expect, I decided better safe than sorry. Fifty three
minutes later the job was complete. Jerry showed me everything they had done and explained exactly why the new components were superior. They tested the door several times, made one adjustment and I wrote the check. Jerry had a hand held pad he used to create the invoice, had me sign with my finger and told me I'd receive an email showing the work performed and payment received in full. I got the email before they left my home. I did find a discrepancy with the
emailed invoice/receipt. I noted five boxes that someone other than myself had initialed. The initialed boxes in general related to my agreeing to their performing the work. I won't try and list each one but I do think I should have seen the boxes before
the work was performed. I don't like someone initialing for me without my knowledge or consent. It's not a big deal and I don't think it's anything to get overly excited about. I do suggest that in the future Precision Overhead Garage Door employees carry a printout of the work order agreement and the five items that the customer would normally initial and explain they, Precision Door, will initial the items if the owner gives their consent in order to start the job. Either that or let the customer initial the 5 items. Bottom line, I do think $663 is pricey but as I stated previously a five year warranty plus having the work completed in a timely and professional manner with quality components is what's important. Jerry and his trainee were both personable and professional. I'd use them again without hesitation. I suggest to the reader(s) of this review that you ask to see any and all items to be initialed prior to agreeing to having any work performed.

He did the work efficiently and quickly. It took him less than 2 hours. He had everything he needed on his truck - he didn't need to come back a 2nd time. We'd recommend him!

The tech came and found that my 16' foot wide metal garage door had springs on either side of the door. It in fact needed torsion bar springs on the header above the door. He got rid of the old springs and pulleys and cables and installed the torsion bar springs.
When the work was done, the door was well-balanced and quiet and my wallet was $378 lighter for this part of the work.
Jerry worked very efficiently.
