We used these guys to replace our unit last year. We had a great experience then. We made a service call because our house is running 6 to 8 degrees over what the thermostat is set on. Chad came out and was rude and condescending to myself and my wife. I eventually had to ask him to leave. He didn’t appreciate us asking questions. We just wanted info around if we needed to have the ducts cleaned. He also told us that Malone should have installed a bigger unit. Worst experience considering the amount of money we’ve spent with them and were planning to spend again.

This company is a straight up joke!! My heat stopped working in my home on Christmas Eve and when the temperatures dropped at night the house was freezing cold. Christmas Day, I contacted the company and they advised that they could send a technician out that same day for a fee of $75. I was fine with the $75 fee because it was the holiday and I wanted my family to be warm and comfortable. Later in the day, a guy named Pablo shows up to the house. We explained to him what was going on and he makes his way to the furnace that's located in the attic. He's literally in the attic for approximately 35-40 minutes. Several times I attempted to ask him if he was ok and if he had found any solution to the problem. He completely ignores me. I started thinking something was wrong with him. Finally, he makes his way down from the attic and proceeds to tell me that I need to replace the entire control board!!!! I'm like what!???? He then says that my furnace is signaling that there's a safety issue, however, he checked everything and he couldn't find a safety issue. THEREFORE I NEEDED TO REPLACE THE ENTIRE CONTROL BOARD BECAUSE THAT'S THE ONLY CONCLUSION THAT HE COULD COME UP WITH. He then says he would have to order the part and couldn't do so until Monday which was 3 days away. SMH. The Cost of the Control Board was $553. I declined. On this same date, I went ahead and put in a request for my warranty company to send a technician out to service my furnace. The only reason I called Malone Heat and Air is because I was looking for SAME DAY SERVICE and I knew the warranty company wouldn't contact me until the following week. The technician from the warranty company came to my residence on Wednesday, almost a week later. When the technician from my warranty company arrived to my home, he literally serviced the furnace for 15 minutes, got the heat back up and running and stated that I needed to replace my filters asap. He also stated that I would need to replace the HIGH LIMIT SWITCH which is less than a $20 part. Check their YELP Reviews.

I called the Malone answering service early evening on Thursday. The lady taking down the info was not very friendly, but shortly thereafter Jason called to assure me that someone would be out the next morning. Kenny arrived before noon, quickly diagnosed the problem, quoted a reasonable price, and installed the needed part. Kenny was pleasant and professional, and he obviously knew what he was doing. We were very pleased, asnd relieved to have our air back.

Service tech (Jason) who came out to check my furnace blower problem was prompt, polite, courteous in a professional manner. After working diligent on the blower he determine I needed a new motor, communicated that the office would call with the price. Courteous and professional sales person / owner (Jimmy) after checking system and asking a few questions, gave quotes on a couple of systems. Office called back with a price of $891 to replace motor and capacitor, which seemed a little pricey (~17% of quoted HVAC replacement). Decided to go with new system / replacement...old system was at least 40 years old. Installers came the following morning which we appreciated because a cold front was moving in that day. Installation seems to go great, it took the whole day but they took time to answer questions and explain a few things. The young man (Casey) installing the system left a lasting pleasant impression, he(Casey) should give a class and write a book on customer service. After going over thermostat programming and system, he performed a completion walk thru with me. I was also impressed with the after job cleanup...not even a sheet metal screw left behind. Again, thanks all(didn't get everyone's name) for the great install service. Heating system seems to have performed well throughout the cold months, will update the cooling system part after the hot months.

Called these guys up for their free inspection, and it all went fine; I wasn't charged anything. I ended up talking with Jimmy, the main sales guy and company owner and it was a pleasure. He is a very straight shooter and let customer service drive the conversation and not trying to push us into a commissioned sale. The only negative, which isn't small, was that the system quotes we received were 20-30% more expensive that what I was expecting.

Workers arrived on time, finished ahead of time. Their presence was minimally interruptive; they left the places where they worked clean and took the old units away. The work was done on a very cold day, yet they managed to complete the work with the inside temperature falling no lower than 63 degrees F.

Taylor, the technician came by and checked the 14 yr old system and quickly diagnosed the problem. He ordered the parts we needed and I used my Angie’s List coupon for part if the service. The parts will be in in 2-3 days, but he gave us the option of temporarily hardwiring the system to keep it running till the new breaker arrived. Extremely knowledgeable and helpful. Thank you for great service.

The technician was extremely polite and punctual, he even joked around with are little boy, the work went smooth and fast. He was done in under an hour and explained what he was doing every step of the way. Even gave me tips on how to trouble shoot any other issues I might have in the future, witch as new home owner was great. It only cost $130.00 for the service call and the work I was very impressed. After he left I realized that I was charged for the service call even though I had paid for it through Angie's List so I called the office and the lady on the phone was more than happy to look up my info and send a refund to my card without any hassle whatsoever.

A little over a year ago we let Malone replace both our conditioning units for upstairs and downstairs. They did a great job and the units have increased our comfort and lowered our utility bills immensely. He said the bugs killed the contact, so he changed the contact. Which starts the compressor. They are good, but they are expensive. The work was A, but the charge was pretty high. They charged $130 to come for 1 hour. They said it’s for diagnostic and repair. They put two charges within 1 hour. The part was under warranty because it is a 1-year old air conditioner system. He’s charging the manufacturer $100 for the contact and charged me $130. I have been using them for 15 years and they come quickly when I call them, even on the weekends they come quickly. They do marvelous work for the air condition and when they come for another service they discount 10% off because I’m just a regular customer. The interaction was just fine. The only thing is they are more expensive, but they are more reliable and I think they know what they are doing, but the charge is high. The work is good. He changed the contact and it worked alright. I would use their services again, because I have a contract with them but if I find a reliable service informative I use. So far I’ve not found anybody I know better, good and cheaper.

After weighing the pros/cons of repairing our unit or replacing it, we decided to replace it. Malone was fantastic! They assessed our unit on Friday night, and had our new unit installed Monday. The house was cool by the time I got home. We purchased an energy efficient Carrier unit which, as it turns out, had a manufacturer's rebate. Also, with the EPB energy solutions program, we get a rebate from them, as well. The install a clean job. Malone handled the paperwork for the rebate, which prompted EPB to contact us and schedule the inspection for next week. This has been a very seamless process.

The technician, Taylor, was VERY knowledgeable, friendly, professional, and courteous. He immediately saw a broken contactor and replaced that part. Unfortunately, the unit would still not come on (all we could hear was the clicking where it was making contact). Upon a further check, it was determined that ALL of the refrigerant was gone from the unit, which meant we had a major leak. Upon authorizing a leak test, the tester immediately found the leak in the outside portion of our system. We could also see oil around the coil. We opted to purchase a new unit, rather than replace parts on this one. This service call, replacement part, and additional testing amounted to around $250.
