Two years ago, we contacted Fischer Landscaping for an estimate.  Although he was not the least expensive, we decided to use his services for irrigation and lighting because he was referred by a colleague of mine.

The work was done in a timely fashion and we were extremely pleased. I have used this company for several other smaller projects within the last two years. We have been happy with their work, all except for one time when they put mulch in our front yard. My husband called to complain but we never heard back. We have always had high quality 'black mulch' and this was not. I said let it go, maybe I was not specific enough.

On July 3rd, 2014, I sent a text to Mr. Fischer with a picture of the landscaping light that was up in the tree. We inquired what type of light bulb do we need to buy to repair the light? (it was burnt out) He said you cannot replace the bulb, it has to be the light. He said he would come out. I had to ask again on July 11th and he eventually did come by and repaired the light.

The light worked for approx. 3 weeks and went out again.  On Sept 9th, I text and left messages. He text and said he would be out again that week. He never showed. Since that time, my husband has called and I also called and left a message about 12 days ago. He has not responded to our calls. I even asked if he was either 'not interested' in servicing our account or was 'too busy', could he recommend another company to us. I also offered and expected to pay for his services. We have not heard back. I still have a burnt out light fixture and the sprinkler system needs some maintenance & a couple of new sprinkler heads.

Overall, we were pleased with the initial work but are very unhappy with their lack of responsiveness to our calls for servicing or repairs.

The work contracted for was not completed even though they were paid in full.  They promised many times to return but never did.  Some of the work completed was not up to local building codes.  Specifically, they installed an electrical line for a water feature underground using a simple extension cord, not an electrical cable rated for underground use and without the PVC conduit necessary to protect us and our pets from electrical shock and which is required by local building codes.  They also installed an irrigation system without the required (by building code) backflow preventer device.  The irrigation system was installed during the winter and was never tested due to the cold.  Our agreement with Fischer was that they would return in warmer weather to turn the system on and calibrate the system.  They never returned.  We hired another contractor to complete the irrigation system.  He did, but the system doesn't work and, according to the new contractor, will never work because our house does not have enough water pressure to power an irrigation system.  Fisher Irrigation should have conducted a pressure test before the installation to test for pressure but failed to do so.  We just spent the hottest summer on record watering our gardens by hand because the irrigation system we paid $2000 for does not work.  Fischer Irrigation has not responded to our Better Business Bureau complaint.   We have been homeowners for over 25 years and have never been as disappointed by a contractor of any kind as we were with Fischer Irrigation & Lighting.
