CHAMPION CLEANERS

My daughter, who lives in Chattanooga took my rug to be cleaned.  She had to sign a release in case there was any damage done to the rug through the dry cleaning process.  When she got the rug back home, it was totally destroyed, i.e. breaking into pieces and the backing turned to sand.  She notified the cleaners of the damage and whoever she spoke with told her she should have not brought the rug to them to be cleaned since there is a rug cleaner right down the road (after the fact).  That person also told her she has seen that kind of damage to rugs they had cleaned before.  After numerous calls to try to contact the owner/manager, I finally got in contact with her (Sheila).  She was the most arogant person I've spoken with in quite a while.  I explained to her that I did not want them to pay for the rug since a release had been signed.  I only requested a refund for the cleaning, which was $57.  She offered me $25, which I accepted since I was getting nowhere in our conversation.  She is evidentally very fortunate that she does not have to depend on repeat business.

The owner, Sheila, acted like a complete jerk. (Something that many people feel) She blamed everyone from the shirt manufacturer to the retail shop. She took no action to pay for the shirt. We left the cleaners and took our $2300 we spent in the prior 12 month period with us and switched to Preferred Cleaners, who comes picks up and delivers.
