I used Certified Air to replace a faulty compressor on our heating system. It was a warranty job through American Home Warranties, so I had no option to use anyone else. At first they were nice and professional on the phone, but there was a great amount of confusion on whether the part had arrived and getting it installed. It took about 2 weeks longer then it was supposed to.

Certified inspected the unit and reported the motor was locked up. They told me they didn't have a replacement with them, and even if they did, weren't sure if it was covered under the warranty. They later called back and confirmed the part was not covered and the repair would be several hundred dollars. At this point, I called for a second opinion (on my own dime). The person I called found the problem was simply some loose wiring (right at the motor, in plain sight - not sure how Certified missed it) and re-crimped the wires at no cost.

We phoned AHS to request that they send someone to examine the A/C unit Certified had serviced two weeks prior - they had replaced the condensor. Our family had been having head-aches since the A/C was serviced. Certified arrived and told us that we must have our chimney swept because it vents through the chimney. We did so at an expense of $100. The sweep found no blocks or cracks. Certified returned and examined the furnace. They found two cracked heat exchangers. We negotiated with them regarding upgrading our furnace to a 90% AFUE model. Over the next two weeks, Certified could not provide us with a detailed estimate so we decided to simply replace the broken unit. Certified stated that we must power-vent through the foundation because the chimney was unsafe to vent through. We had the city inspector come out to inspect the chimney. He certified it as safe. We are against using Certified for this issue because we felt they were not forthcoming or transparent in our conversations.
