Accel plumbing was very prompt in answering my calls and scheduling the plumber to look at the problem.
The leaks in our kitchen faucet happened at a very bad time and we were able to get it fixed within a 24 hour period. I will use Accel plumbing in the future and I will definitely recommend them to anyone who ask.
Very prompt and professional!
We called one company out, but it seemed they didn't want to tackle it (especially after going under the house and seeing how difficult it was going to be). So, we still had a frozen pipe that was going to break at some point, and at 9 PM, it did. My brother had some dealing with a plumber at his work from a local plumbing company here and he was starting up a new company and going in business for himself, so he qave us his card to consider. I called Mike Kelly of Accel about 9:30 or 10 that night. He had been working since early that AM on emergencies calls such as mine.
Poor guy had to be tired, but his card said "24 hr service" and I needed it then! He said he would come as soon as he gathered up the things he would need. He got here about 11. He cut off the water, went under the house and crawled all the way to the other end of the house where the ground is no more than 6 in from the bottom of the house (seriously) and he could go no further. We already had an access hole in the closet and he could feel it under there, just not reach it to fix it from there, or under the house. The PVC was so brittle that when it burst, had broken into pieces.
He suggested capping it further back where he had much better access. Given what it was going to take to fix that, he said a much better option would be to replace all of the lines with PEX, which theoretically expands and contracts and won't freeze. After seeing how brittle this piece was, it was not a matter of "if" that would happen again, but "when". He left about 1:30 AM after capping it and turning the well back on, and we decided upon replacing it all and putting on two shut offs to the house from the well.
The next Monday, he and his helper arrived on time, put paper down throughout the house, and worked ALL day from 9 or 10 AM until 6:30 or 7 that night. They cleaned up the mess, replaced the floor they had to cut, and the access panel and cleaned up all of that and hauled off the old stuff, and got us back up and running. Oh, and I had bought a new sink faucet to replace later on(before all this happened) in the kitchen, and he kindly agreed to do that also at no additional charge since he was replacing lines there anyway. He said he would come back when he had the part to fix the line to the ice maker, and he did the very next work day, which was fine. But our ice maker wasn't making ice, so I called him and he came right out and fixed that too - a simple problem.
I was very happy with the price and the quality of work that was done...it was not an easy job. I would not hesitate to use him again or to recommend him to others. I also had an estimate from another company and Mike and Accel came in at $700.00 under the other estimate.
He was very knowledgeable, very diligent, and I felt like we were going to be treated fairly...and we were. Mike Kelly is truly a MASTER PLUMBER. His card states "Fast and Reliable Service with Integrity You Deserve". I felt like we received that, many times over.
