It seemed like the coldest day of the year and the heat pump wouldn't work, so we called the installer who came 2 days after the call. When the owner of the business was ready to leave, I asked him how much we owed so I could pay him then - so he said it was so much for the service call and so much for each of the 2 fuses he replaced - so I wrote him a check. Within 2 weeks, we were cold again - my husband who knows enough about these things checked the fuses - so after he did - he came back inside, and he was livid. He was holding 2 fuses in his hand and one was obviously dead because of the dark discoloration - and not only that, it was a different brand from the other one, which was obviously new because the label was clean and new while the blown fuse even had an old and different dirty label. It was obvious that only one fuse had been replaced 2 weeks earlier, and the other old one was the one that blew. When we replaced the unit last year, another business got our business. Larry Jones' loss in dollars was far greater than the cost of a fuse.
