Churchill Mortgage

When deciding where to apply for a loan, we chose to look at Churchill Mortgage because we heard they are the only mortgage company that Dave Ramsey endorses. We liked what we found and decided to pursue our home loan with them. Throughout the whole process, we were entirely pleased with their informative, friendly service and their patience with us as we learned the process of home-buying for the first time. Our agent, Holly, was incredibly attentive to our needs, answered questions fully and quickly, and we couldn't have been more pleased with her help. There were several snags in the process of getting our home, from the Realtor side, and Holly remained patient, helpful, and did what she could to help move the process along. Churchill Mortgage is nationwide but they gave us the attention and care of a local company. My wife and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them to anyone applying for a home loan.

It was too long ago to remember each deatil. I read that you wanted a statement even if one had spoke with them on the phone.

1. I was initially pleased with the contact and what seemed like professionalism. The documentation was relatively easy to submit online initially and the person I worked with was responsive. My sincere regret in using them came when we got down to the final stretch of the process...and it all started falling apart. We missed the first scheduled closing date as they continued to request paperwork. The last week before the initial closing date seemed to bring a new request for arcane data every day, while I was trying to get a HUD statement so that I could prepare the funds to close. There was a lot of blameshifting and when I called them on it, they weren't very happy (or friendly). The loan amount was incorrect (higher than I had asked for) and was not corrected prior to closing as I asked them to do. I could not actually get it corrected at the closing as the mortgage representative did not attend the closing, when it finally occurred, and left it to the title company to handle. The second closing date was also missed and, on that date, I was strung along hour-by-hour until that closing appointment was canceled. We finally closed 3 days after that, which was not professional and caused a lot of stress since this transaction needed to close on a particular date and I had to juggle all of the problems it caused. I subsequently needed to refinance another property I own and used an out-of-state mortgage broker, with none of the problems or stress that Churchill caused me.
