We rented a home in Murfreesboro from Christian Realty. Their responsiveness to repair issue is poor at best, and often non-responsive without repeated attempts. There was a major water leakage problem. Christian Realty sent someone out to get an estimate to repair and then they never had it completed. We had to hire someone to fix the ceiling where the leak took place. The person we hired noted that the area of the ceiling had been repaired several times previously so evidently the water leak has been going on for quite some time. Then in November the heat stopped working on a Friday night. We had no emergency contact info, besides an email that was only checked Monday through Friday during business hours. After searching on the Internet, we were able to find a cell phone number for Mr. Hill. When we spoke to him he asked if we could just wait until Saturday morning to have someone come fix it. We agreed even though the temperatures were below freezing. When we did not hear anything Saturday morning we called Mr Hill again. He said he was having a problem finding someone who could come out and fix the unit but that he would keep trying. We did not hear anything else until approximately 2pm on Monday when the office called and asked if we were still without heat. Of course we were. They sent someone out at approximately 9pm that evening and he got the unit working, albeit not properly. A week later, the Tuesday night before Thanksgiving, the heat stopped working again. We called Christian Realty first thing Wednesday morning. The sent someone out at approximatley 12:15pm. At 1pm he stated he had to go to Nashville to get the parts. We did not hear from him the rest of the day and he did not return. At approximately 4:45pm we called the hvac person and got his voicemail. So we called Christian Realty, who said they would try to find out what was going on. While on the phone with Christian Realty, the hvac person called back and left a message stating he would be back out on Monday because they did not have the part. We called Christian Realty back and told them what he said. We were told that they will have someone come out. When we did not hear back about an hour later we called the office and found they all left for the holiday weekend. We again called Mr Hill and he said we would have to wait until Monday, in temperatures that again were below freezing. He refused to call a different hvac service to see if someone else could fix the unti sooner. By Friday morning it was 52 degrees in the house. Accordingly I called an hvac company who was able to come out and fix the unit within the hour. I deducted the cost from the rent and Mr Hill called complaining that he would let it go this time but that we have no right to have the heat fixed on our own. Evidently he expected us to remain in a 50some degree house for 6 days waiting on his person to fix the unit. When we gave notice to vacate and they listed the home for rent, they repeated failed to attend showings. The first showing they were 45 minutes late. They did not show at all for the other two showings. One of which we had no notice and the other they called 5 minutes before the appointment time. When we left the house, it was professionally cleaned and was also had the carpets cleaned. It was in better condition than when we moved in. The only "damage" Mr Hill could come up with was that the driveway was dirty so he wanted us to have it pressure-washed. Not sure how he expected a driveway not to have any dirt on it. There were no stains or anything, just simply "dirty" from walking and parking on it. Yet, when we demanded our deposit back, he insisted other work had to be done. He did not want to give us anything back, but after repeated attempts he did refund part of the deposit, with no explantion other than someone had to repaint some rooms. Funny that this wasn't an issue on the walk-through and the move-out pictures show no damage to the paint. Rent from Christian Realty at your own risk. We spoke to the new tenants and after 1 week they were already complaining about the lack of response to their questions/concerns.
