Terrible. Mr. Jimmy Rogers is sweetness and light when trying to get your money and while taking your money, but forget it if there is a problem later on. Two years ago, my then 80 year old father hired Jimmy Rogers Flooring to lay vinyl flooring in our homes family room. Our family home has been a work in progress for 30 years, and while the basement apartment was occupied by my sister, the upstairs of the house was unfinished on the interior. My father, who is now 82, lives in his small home about 500 feet down the driveway from the big family home. He is in failing health and a Veteran, and needs assistance. I moved home after 30 years in California to help my sister take care of him. As his only wish is to finally live in his big house, my sister and I are doing everything we can to finish it for him. The flooring that was installed by this company is called Simplesse, and we have it installed, many years ago and by someone else, in three other rooms. The family room flooring was buckled and bubbled. We could not find any paperwork on who installed it, only that my dad remembered it was two years ago. Unable to find out, we hired our new contractor, Ricky Neal Construction, who is fantastic, to remove and install new flooring. Mr. Neal told us the bubbling and buckling was due to poor installation. One week before Thanksgiving, we found in a safe the invoice from Jimmy Rogers Flooring. While he was paid over $4,000, we only wanted to be refunded for the labor and installation fees, which amounted to $1,400. I went in person to his showroom the next day, and spoke to his saleslady, who assured me that "nothing like this has ever happened before". I also spoke to his wife, and left copies of the invoice, my contact information, and the contact information for Ricky Neal Construction. I was told to expect a call the next morning. That call never came. The day after, I called him and reached Jimmy Rogers himself. First he oozed good ole boy charm, which I did not appreciate, as he was very condescending. When that got him nowhere, the charm was switched off like a light switch and he spoke "normally", and while he at first professed to have no idea what I was talking about, he suddenly had details to add to the conversation that told me he knew exactly what I was talking about. He refused to offer a refund, stating that the warranty had expired, and that he was not given the opportunity to inspect the floor. I told him, again, we had no idea he was responsible, and that we had the bucked flooring for him to inspect, and that he was welcome to speak with our contractor. He then became surly when I didn't back down from my refund request. He said he needed the week of Thanksgiving to "think about it" and "talk to his lawyer". I said fine. Today I receive a letter from his "lawyer", who did not provide his name, only said he was "Jimmy Rogers lawyer". He said he had advised Mr, Rogers not to refund us as the warranty had expired, etc. I asked for an email to that effect. When the email never arrived as promised, I called back the number that had called me from the "lawyer". It was Jimmy Roger's phone. So he's a liar in addition to being a despicable person and a poor businessman. My father and I went to the County Courthouse to file a small claims lawsuit. My father is very frail and has difficulty walking. The cost to file is $201.50, which upset my father as much as this creep taking advantage of him, and he didn't want to pursue the matter further. While looking at the Jimmy Rogers Flooring website, what do I see but a picture, that was taken without permission, of my Family Room where the poor flooring job was done. He has been using and illegally obtained photo for advertising of my home for God knows how long on his website. I texted him to have it taken down immediately, and called him repeatedly- he will not answer my calls. I have attached a screen shot of the picture of my home that was taken without permission and used without permission. The sheer nerve of Jimmy Rogers is appalling.
