Project was completed to our wishes on time with minimal issues. All problems were professionally handled by Katie Manley of Jackson Interior Design. Katie was our designer and project manager.

The project went quite well especially considering its complexity. Ms Manley was careful to consider the wants and needs of the customer and work with the contractor to accommodate these while controlling the overall costs. There were a couple of snags but they were expertly handled by the project manager working with the sub-contractor. While one does not enjoy be ousted from one's bedroom and bath for any length of time, this project was finished within the estimated period.

Jackson interiors was contracted to remodel our kitchen. That included installing all new cabinets, countertops and installing all our new appliances. They sent one man to do all of this work. He did good on installing the cabinets but that was it. He had to do plumbing work in order to install our refridgerator, dishwasher and a stand alone ice maker....After hooking up the fridge he left our project for about a week. ( we weren't moved into the house yet ) The plumbing started leaking behind the fridge. It completely soaked our kitchen, adjoining bathroom and hallway floors. I came into the house to check on the progress and found the mess. I called Jackson Interiors and told them what happened. They sent the man back out. He got all the water up and tried to fix our soaked wood floor...The second leak happened underneath the kitchen sink. Again, I called them and the designer and office manager came out to look at it. They in turn called a plumber to come out and fix it. The original guy wasn't available. Plumber came out, supposedly fixed the problem and cleaned up the mess. At this time, the first leak behind the fridge started dripping again and the plumber supposedly fixed that too...We moved in the house in January. One August morning we woke up and heard water rushing in the kitchen. The connection the plumber was supposed to have fixed had seperated and had been fflowing all night while we slept. Again, I called Jackson Interiors and they came out to access the damage. Damage was over $10,000..The owner, Mrs. Jackson refused to accept responsibility for any of the damage. She told me that she wasn't going to keep paying for this every time I have a water leak. She also said that they were not responsibile for this incident and that she would not pay for any of it.. At that point, I asked her to get out of my home..I came to find out later that the first man doing the job was not licensed to do any plumbing or electrical work. So I basically got a jack-leg doing the plumbing and electrical work in my house. Thank you Jackson Interiors. I had to have 100% of the plumbing redone at my own expense.
Response from JACKSON INTERIOR DESIGN
"This response is to address the post by the member on 2/24/11. My firm has been in business for 32 years, so we are very aware of the professions which must be licensed in Tennessee, ie, electricians, plumbers, engineers, contractors, etc. Cabinet installers are not required to have a license to install cabinets. Installing kitchen cabinets requires setting appliances in place. Appliance hook-ups must be done by licensed professionals. It is our policy to advise our clients of the necessity of using licensed professionals as required per job. The members were no exception to this policy. We utilize the services of several cabinet installers, and in the case of the members, we utilized an out-of-town installer because the member chose not to wait on our recommended local installer who is also a licensed contractor, electrician, and plumber. The member also chose not to wait on another licensed plumber and instructed the cabinet installer to hook up the plumbing. The member even purchased the plumbing parts for the cabinet installer to use. The member's wife failed to mention that this matter was turned over to our insurance company and that their claim was denied after the insurance company investigation. We have documentationin our files to support my statements, and I trust that Angie's List will clear my company's reputation by removing these negative and false accusations from their website. Phyllis R. Jackson, President Jackson Interior Design & Furnishing Co."
