On the day Nathan Alderson said he would start, he called to say that he had a family emergency. On the next day, he showed up hours late, and without the helpers he said that he needed to get the work done. Without the help, he did some aimless tasks in our home, then went down into our basement where he tugged on a water pipe and broke it. The rest of the day was spent repairing the pipe he had broken. The day after, he said he would be there in morning at 8 am. 8 am came and went, he then said (via text, his favorite mode of communication) he would be there by 10. 10 came and went, he said he "definitely" be there by noon. Noon came and went...at which point I got on the phone and asked when he would be coming. Nathan said he would not be able to make it, and asked to come on Monday (he doesn't work the weekend). Monday arrives, along with all of the excuses why he can't come. My husband asked for our money back, and he responded via text "Not gonna happen...c u in court". Since then, he's ducked and dodged, including the standard "the check's in the mail". No one should ever hire this guy, and someone needs to warn the public.
Description of Work: We need a minor repair done on our home. Nathan Alderson was recommended by the structural engineer (Kevin Poe, Poe Engineering, Inc.). Alderson came to our home, quoted us a price of approximately $1600, and stated the job would take two days. We asked him the days that he would be available, and he put together a contract stating what day he would start, and the date the job would be concluded on. He asked for, and we gave him $800 to purchase materials for the work.
