The roofer had removed ALL of the roof vent hood metal covers and installed the new metal roof panels directly over the worn, existing shingles. We discovered within the next couple of days that our Bryant Insider heat pump was not cooling properly. Upon further investigation, we determined that the large metal dome exhaust cover for our heat pump had been removed as well and that our unit was not venting air properly causing the unit to overheat and trip the circuit causing it to not provide cool air. This was an obvious error by the roofer in not consulting with us prior to removing All of the vent hoods and insisting the large heat pump vent cover would need to stay in place in order for our HVAC to continue to work properly. Any professional roofer should certainly be knowledgeable and advise customers regarding specific considerations of their particular systems before simply removing all roof vent covers. Within the couple of days, roofer did return and reinstall the heat pump exhaust cover on the roof, having to cut panels in order to refit the cover. Subsequently, he caulked around cover to seal. Another problem arose this summer around the middle of July 2015. During a period of very heavy rains, we encountered extreme amounts of water coming through a smaller hall vent opening directly below the larger heat pump vent cover. Earlier this summer, we had noticed a very small dripping of water coming through this smaller hall vent. We had brought this to the attention of roofer previously, but he said this small dripping was probably due to condensation. He was certainly mistaken. We subsequently have attempted to contact him to come back and correct this problem, but to no avail. We were able to speak one time in July and he told us that he would give us call back "when he was heading this way". We have left several voice mail messages in the meantime which have been ignored. Needless to say, we're quite disappointed. This roofer will never be receiving a request for services or referrals from us in the future.
Description of Work: New metal roof installed by this roofer in 2013, No apparent problems at first, but the story continues...
