Slow and lousey with a low quality finished product.
Description of Work: I gave him HD video tapes they came back in standard format, as a video he stated he would NOT charge his normal $125 an hour fee for downloading, then padded that fee into the total hours, his equipment was out of date and he fumbled around on the computer, and took more time than usual to even put titles on the video. He made me wait for 45 minutes, which he charged me for, while he tried to find my file on his out dated computer. I WOULD NEVER HIRE RUSS AGAIN.

In response to (removed member name) review, there needs to be some explanation on our behalf as to what really happened. Our goal for the past 30 years has been to provide quality service to our customers. It is unfortunate that (removed member name) feels differently. As in all of our business we are deliberate, both in our vocal and written communications with our customers, as to what is expected of the customer as well as what the customer can expect from us in the finished product. This sets the expectations for both parties and makes clear as to what the responsibilities of both parties are within the project. Both in written and a written contract provided to (removed member name), it was detailed that this would be a video editing project done in Standard Definition. I was very clear on several occasions verbally that we had not converted to the High Definition format. Within the verbal and written contract, the specifics were detailed as cost per hour. This cost per hour was discounted from $125 per hour to $100 per hour. This included the cost of actual editing and production. Contrary to (removed member name) statement, if I were to have charged him for all the time that I spent on this project, the cost would have been a great deal more that what was charged. There was nothing said in his response that I had to pick up and deliver (removed member name) from his apartment. This time away from the office was not billed to client. Likewise, the time that I spent contacting web designers to redesign and update his out dated websites or graphic designers to create and update his out dated logo or contacting vendors via phone or in person to convert his hard drive from Mac to PC, all were not billed for. As for the fumbling around with the editing process this is not entirely accurate. From the start of this project, I was explicit as to making sure that when he makes changes, the more changes the more time it take to complete the editing process. On multiple occasions, we would get a section completed and he would change his mind about the beginning scene and we would have to basically start over. This continual indecision caused some frustration on my part and caused a delay of less than 15 minutes, all of which was not billed to (removed member name). As for the total cost stated my (removed member name), he greatly neglected to mention that for the cost of $950, he received a total of 3 complete different versions of the one project that I bid a total of $500. All three finished projects, all were viewed multiple times prior to the final burning process. If the project was not up to his standards anytime during these processes, (removed member name) should have spoke up. All he continued to say was that he was glad that he found someone to work with and these things looked great. There were no indications whatsoever as to his displeasure. As for the slow and lousy equipment with a low quality finished product statement on the review, all I have to defend myself is with one statement. We have always taken responsibility for things that we are in control of and we as a company feel we were upfront and honest as to my capabilities as an editor and with the equipment that I have and if (removed member name) did not feel that I was able to get the project done with what I had to offer, them he should have looked elseware.
