In October we met with saleswoman Jayne Moe who explained what a good product the bath planet shower was as well as the company Your Home Improvement Company (YHIC). She was extremely convincing. She had answers to all our questions and told us the cost of our new shower would be 12,500 dollars. Well, we said yes because the product, company and customer service were supposed to be amazing as well as a promised one-day removal of our old tub and installation of the new shower. The install date was sometime between October and January 11, 2022. Fast forward to November; I received an email stating our shower unit would be in Sioux Falls on December 18, 2021, and I would be contacted on the installation date. I never heard from anyone; so, I called after the new year to find out when we would be getting our shower installed. I was told to expect a call from the installation department. About another week went by; no one contacted me. The following day both my husband and I called; again, no call back even though I left a message to please have someone call me. Finally, I received an email from someone named CJ letting me know I would be contacted. I did finally hear from an installation guy who said he would be out on January 19, 2022 to install the unit (note this is after the install date on our contract; but we did not complain, we just wanted our new shower) So the installer shows up at 10 am and says he can not do it in one day; he has to leave at 2 that afternoon. He says it will take him 3 to 5 days to do the job. My husband calls the company; gets no answer. He ends up having to call another branch of the company, Rapid City, not Sioux Falls because no one answered their phones there. The person in Rapid helped him make contact with our saleswoman. So, he calls the saleswoman. She gets a hold of someone with the company who then calls the installer and the installer is pulled off the job. Apparently according to the saleswoman and the company he works for (YHIC) he has not been doing his job well and this has been an issue in the past(that man no longer works there) When I talked to Jayne about the problems we had been having (from the delayed install date to the lack of communication from the company to the now no installer) she told me after the shower was installed; she would come out and meet with us and talk about making it up to us with a new bay window (no charge to us) Also, that she was going to send us a 150-gift card (PLEASE NOTE: As of 03/28, 2022 NONE of those things have happened; no gift cert and we have not seen her at all) Finally, the shower was installed on Jan 31, 2022. After the installers left, we waited the 24 hours to use the shower, the water pressure was awful. Turns out there was tape stuck in the showerhead (my husband removed it) and there was a water leak in the basement where they plumed in the new shower. . Also, the shower base is holding water; it is warped and will not drain from the far side so the water gets stagnate and yucky unless you mop it up after every use. Again, we contact the company. . Nate (an installer; though not our original one) came out and confirmed the base was no good, the entire unit would have to be removed, base, walls, doors, all of it. Or if we did not want it to be removed, they would compensate us 500 dollars. I recently received an email saying that our new unit would be in Sioux Falls on April 8, 2022. So, we will see how things go. We are certainly not trying to get more than what is ours. But I cannot tell you how disheartening and frustrating it has been to deal with this company. To some 12,500 dollars might not seem like a lot, but to us it is. We work hard for our money and we defiantly would not have spent that much if we had any idea what we would go through. I can honestly say; I wish I never contacted this company or invited any of them into my home.
