Thorson Heating & Air Conditioning

First time I met Mr Thorson was on a Friday evening around 7pm.. Our AC stopped cooling and it was June 2021. Mr Thorson responded after hours and fixed our unit. He was quick and efficient, and reasonable. The next year (2022) the AC crapped out again almost to the day one year later.Again Mr Thorson responded and got us up and running. This time we decided it was time for a new unit. The unit has been installed and works great, Jackie and her assistant replaced my heat and ac unit. They did a great job. I highly recommend Thorson Heating and AC, price quality and ease of communication are top notch and I have a hometown company that I can count on for my duration. If you are thinking of having any heating or cooling work done include Thorson's in your process.

Jackie answered the call around 9:00 and said she would be out that afternoon. Came earlier than I expected. Had problem diagnosed within 5 mins. Small repair made and Freon added as it was low. We're "chilling" again! Offered suggestions for preventative maintenance to keep us going in this almost 30 year old unit as we know it's just a matter of time. Thanks!! Great service and recommended to a friend the very next day for their furnace.

Jackie went through a thorough preliminary exam and determined the problem. She tore down the furnace and repaired the malfunction without replacing any parts!

Jackie showed up and diagnosed the issue. She was very thorough in making sure she had the proper diagnosis of the problem rather than guessing on replacing parts. She replaced the gas valve. Very efficient. I was impressed with her ability to fix a furnace that is probably older than she is. I would definitely do business with them again and would recommend them very highly.

This is a new house and we original contacted a different contracted our realtor recommended.  After the failed to show up for two scheduled appointments I returned to Angie's list and founds Thorson's Heating and Air Conditioning.  The showed up when the were scheduled to arrive and did the work quickly.

They did just fine. They did a good job. I've used them for over a few years. They had to come back a few times. That was just a little time consuming. I'm not really holding it against them because maybe that was required to troubleshoot the issue. The pricing was fair. I would recommend them. They provide good service and they're knowledgeable.

They were very fast and reliable in their service. Jackie was wonderful. My furnace died before the agreed upon date and they sped up my service to get me in earlier.

On time, very professional, quick.

• We called Thorson's thinking that our furnace needed repairs. They've done a good job with small fixes in the past. However our furnace was over 25 years old and we've expected it to die. This time our heat exchanger was cracked, so there was no more fixing. It was late in the day on Friday, so they brought us several space heaters and we talked about starting a replacement project first thing on Monday morning.

They offered us an option to get a more efficient, better model of furnace that was a floor model at a discount and also offered us a discount for doing the humidifier at the same time.
Everything went smoothly. The furnace was installed and turned on by the end of the day on Monday. By Tuesday, the job was complete. They not only did the installation quickly and expertly, but they cleaned up after themselves, leaving the furnace area as clean, if not cleaner than it started. 
We're impressed with this third-generation family business. They take good care of their customers. We can't recommend them enough!

Good and not-so-good. A very nice young lady (the owners daughter) arrived promptly and did some troubleshooting, then replaced the part, which she had on-hand, and the AC worked. We chatted a bit, and I mentioned a loose connection on my exterior unit. She looked at it & said it only needed to be trimmed & re-tightened, which she would do.
Some time later, I checked outside to see if she was still here, and she was - still working on the exterior AC unit even though she said it would only take a few minutes. She eventually left, and said that she would get me some cost information on a new furnace (which I had asked for), and would also give me the Angie's List $5 discount.
When I got the bill, I noticed a $60 additional charge for labor. I've had other furnace / AC work done over the last few years, and they always seem to get the job done in their 'minimum' job time. I called Thorson to ask about it; spoke to Mr. Thorson and he said he would check into it. I called him a few days later & was informed that "she probably did some other work."
When I paid the bill, I again asked that the extra $60 labor fee be explained, and also asked that information be sent to me about new furnace options. It's been over a month, and I've heard nothing from them.
My problem with this bill is that I feel that I've been billed $1 per minute for her to do things that I could have easily done myself. I think that she fixed the loose connection and also sprayed the exterior unit clean. That's great, but I didn't ask for that to be done, as I could do it myself. When chatting with her, I'd mentioned that I was an avionics troubleshooter on helicopters, so she must have been aware of my capabilities.
My summary is that that if she had performed these minor fixes quickly and free, I would have been singing the praises of Thorson Heating & Air Conditioning. Instead, I feel that I paid a lot for some simple fixes that I could have done myself, and I am disappointed in their lack of communication (which seems 'extra' strange since they know they'll see a rating on Angie's List).

We could not find anybody that could do the repair. They would work on it and charge us a lot and it still did not work. I called Thorson heating and air and they sent out Jackie. She immediately saw the problems and went to work and worked very hard to do it right. The air conditioning now works the best ever and everyone in the building is very comfortable for the first time in two years.

Called Thorson's around 11:20am on Monday morning.  Technician Jackie was at our house at 2pm the same day!  She discovered that our unit had an internal fuse that had blown shutting down our system, while our electric box circuit breaker remained 'on'.
She got the fuse replaced, checked out the rest of the system.  Had to blow out a clogged drain hose.  Also replaced the filter, checked freon levels, cleaned inside and outside units, etc.
She spent about a hour and a half total working on the unit.
It's Thursday night now, and all is still working great!
I would definitely call them again without hesitation!

I called on a Wednesday afternoon because my heat pump wasn't keeping up with the warm weather.  Jackie was able to come out the very next day, which I thought was very responsive.  She was able to find the problem in rather short order and went to get the part and had my heat pump back in working order yet that day.  It's been working fine for several days now.  I asked her about an estimate on some other work in my basement.  She took some notes and said she'd have Rob come out to quote the work in a few days.  He was a bit late for our appointment, but was apologetic and an all around nice guy.  We had a good conversation about my options and how he would price them.  His quotes were fair.  I have yet to decide how I'll proceed, but I have certainly had a good experience with Thorson so far.

Mr. Thorson was great!  He arrived on time, called ahead to let me know.  We had previously had another provider come out on an emergency basis because the leak was causing carpet damage.  This other person essentially left us right where we were, except $140.00 poorer.
Mr. Thorson quickly diagnosed the problem, came up with a creative solution (giving us time to save up for a new air conditioner and saving our carpet for this summer at least!) and was professional, helpful, and knowledgeable. 
Mr. Thorson, not only called ahead to let me know when he would arrive, but he called the following day to see how things were going. 
Our air conditioning is running much more efficiently, and as I understand it we can expect our heating to also improve with this cleaning of the coil.
I would highly recommend him and will definately use his services again.
