The access plate for the fuel pump on my car is on the front of the fuel tank, and it looks like it could have been taken out without dropping the fuel tank. There is evidence of fuel pump having been changed (paint and undercoating scraped off of the bolts and around the plate). But there is no evidence of the fuel tank having been loosened or lowered resulting in someone staying late to get it done and charging all the extra labor (the straps holding the fuel tank up have intact factory undercoating all over it).
About a week later, my check engine light came on, so I took it to my regular mechanic in Sioux City. He said the code came up as and quot;fuel pump drawing too much current.and quot; So I took it back to Team Automotive and had them check it again. It turned out that the code for the fuel pump must not have been cleared out, because Team said it the code came up as a transmission problem. Team did not charge me for the service code check. My mechanic in Sioux City rechecked it and confirmed that it was a transmission code. My issue is that Team said that the labor price was high because of the time it would take to lower the fuel tank.
In short, I believe Team Automotive got my car in quickly, got it running, but weren't completely honest in the work that they did.
