It went as well as knee replacements can go. My surgeon, Dr. Corey Rothrock, was very knowledgeable, patient, and caring. The staff at the clinic were pleasant and helpful. Except for my 1st appointment, where I had to wait about 40 min. before I saw the Dr., I've always gotten right in on my other 3 appointments. The Sioux Falls Specialty Hospital, which is associated with the Orthopedic Institute and where I had my surgery was wonderful also. I wouldn't hesitate to go back there.

Waited an hour or so in waiting room and then waited in the exam room. Heard doctor tell assistant they were an hour behind schedule. Doctor had very poor and quot;bedside manner.and quot; Didn't get a complete explanation or understanding of the xrays taken. Was told I had and quot;shoulder impingement syndromeand quot; and p/t recommended. As my schedule does not permit for such, I was given a cortisone shot and sent home with some exercises to do at home. A month or so out and is no better...shot did zero good.
I am going to seek a second opinion at one of the hospitals. Will have to find the name of the actual doctor to add to review..his assistant was ok...he came recommended, but I was not impressed.

He ended up recommending surgery, and I am happy to report that it was very successful! I appreciate the way he took the time to answer all my crazy questions, and didn't make me feel like I was wasting his time. I highly recommend him!!

I agreed to do the surgery to remove my right index fingernail with Dr. Curd which I was told would be a simple procedure with minimal downtime and  pain.  First of all, he was late 2 hours to my surgery.  Not once did he ever talk to me before the surgery or after to discuss any information regarding the actual surgery.  When I  awoke from the surgery my hand was numb and wrapped in a heavy dressing. After being home for several hours the numbing medicine wore off and I was in the most horrific pain that I have ever experienced in my entire life.  It felt like my finger was being held under a burning flame and with someone was stabbing needles into it. This pain ended up going on day in and day out for the next  6 months with no pain medications including heavy narcotics able to alleviate this unbearable pain.Initially when the dressing was removed it looked like someone had ripped off my fingernail along with a good portion of the tissue in my nailbed.  The pain I experienced was shear torture.  When the dead tissue came off of my nailbed the damage from the surgery was so severe that the bone of my finger was exposed.  This explained why i was in so much pain with all of the nerves in my finger exposed.  When I would go back to Dr. Curd for help he would deny any wrong doing from his surgery and would arrogantly say that my finger was his signature which I thought was a sick way to take credit for a botched surgery. Eventually I had to seek the care of another physician to manage and treat  the damages that Dr. Curd created from his surgery so I wouldn't lose my entire finger.  18 months later I write this review in hopes to save someone else from having the same thing happen to them from this doctor from a careless surgery.  At this point I have lost much of the mobility in this finger and I am no longer able to: make a fist, do small detailed activities with this finger like typing or picking up items, tie my shoes, button pants or shirts.  I lost a lot of tissue in this finger which has now been replaced with scar tissue, and the fingernail will not reattach to the area of the nailbed that was so badly damaged.  I later learned that Dr. Curd was part owner of the Specialty Surgical Hospital where I had the surgery which now explains why he jumped so fast to recommend surgery.  This surgery has caused me permanent damage for the rest of my life.  There are much better hand specialists with good bedside manners in this city unfortunately I had to learn this the hard way.

Had to wait three months for an appointment. Arrived early as asked and checked in. I was going to be a new patient. It seemed upon check in they were not happy I had medicare and wasn't a workman's comp case. After waiting and seeing the waiting room fill and empty two times over an hour period I asked if there was a problem. The admissions person basically refused to tell me anything . I waited 20 minutes longer after that then asked for a new appointment and they refused. I finally left and never heard from them again. There jerks.
