I was upset when I got home. The back of her was full of dried 'poop'. If I had known this when I picked her up, I would have arranged to take her to a groomer immediately to have her shampooed. As it was, this was on a Saturday a short time before they closed. Once I got home, it was too late to try to line up a groomer. I had to clean her myself. My poor kitty had been traumatized by spending the night at the vets, then having an enema - I then had to prolong the discomfort by trying to bathe her in my sink. I had to try twice, then went out during a snow storm to buy cat 'wipes'. She was so matted with the stuff.
I understand that they were probably too busy to clean her up, I just think that they should have told me about her condition before I let her out of the carrier in my home, reeking!
